| Do they still fire the teachers willy nilly who have a problem with the violence. I don't recommend this profession. |
If parents are ready, it's time for a class action. There are plenty lawyers ready. one too many of these looking into bull shit meetings. Mr. Jones had said before this school year that detectors may be coming this year. Does any school have them yet? |

Geez, I just filled out a job application yesterday and their was a question: Have you ever resigned or got fired please explain- ok here goes- this is what I put on the application- I worked for MCPS and in these schools there was an abnormal amount of gang violence. Teachers feared for their safety and safety for students while admin wanted teachers to not report the violence. Year after year admin forced teachers to resign and the cuts went to the ones who did not have tenure yet. |
Last year's PTSA head was indeed amazing, but so is this year's PTSA head... Lo and behold they are one and the same person... Laurie Bolt! She is the definition of action-oriented and is working TIRELESSLY to get this mess sorted. Get more involved and you'll be able to see this yourself. |
Ok Laurie Bolt thanks for writing here |
| Any mention of detectors in schools? |
So what's next parents? |
Nope, just a parent. Not on ptsa even just talk to folks who are. You should be ashamed of yourself for trashing people who do this sort of crucial and also thankless job. If you are so great and know so much, why aren’t you doing it. |
This will get faded until next time. Council member Friedson has said he has done this type of meeting before. That is not good! Unless parents now take drastic measures, what are those panelists going to do?? |
As often happens on this site, you are responding to people you think posted something. Try again. Definitely not someone to bash volunteers because that means I would be bashing myself. Also not on any PTSA. |
Yes. Peter Moran said they would cost $100 million to just implement in high schools. Marcus said they’re doing evaluations and exploration with vendors but won’t be coming anytime soon. |
Parents have to keep the pressure on. MCPS is just hoping this all blows over again. |
Suggesting that Laurie bolt is the sort of person who would write a message in the third person plugging herself is indeed bashing, as is assuming that no one else would have cause to post something positive about her. You’re acting like a jerk and you know it. |
The mcps security chief said that school foundations funding detectors is something that could be discussed. Hopefully bcc foundation follows up on this. |
Yes and I would advise parents engaging boe. Four members were there last night including Julie yang. They need to hear from people. |
