Best way to counter Musk is to impact Tesla sales

Tesla stock is in the toilet. But Musk knows that and got himself a fat no bid contract to provide Starlink for the FAA. Sorry Verizon-you’re being replaced. no exclusive contracts for you!
This is what happens when idiot Trump let’s Elon Musk “manage his own conflict of interests.”

Regular people with retirement accounts. Small investors who panic-sell and never recover their losses.

And you know who probably does not get hurt? Elon Musk.

The guy has multiple companies—SpaceX, Starlink, Neuralink, The Boring Company. Starlink alone is raking in cash, especially in places where traditional internet sucks. If Tesla takes a hit, it is not Musk who feels it—it is pension holders and everyday investors.

Hedge funds? They will just buy the dip.
Tesla’s global competitors? They will probably benefit.

So yeah, if you want a good post for your socials, yes, boycott Tesla and announce it to all who care. If your goal is to stick it to Musk, he will likely be just fine—your retirement account? Maybe not so much.

Also, I do not own or plan to own a Tesla.

I don't plan to buy a spaceship either. Who is buying those these days? Oh right, the federal government he just took over.

The wealthiest man in the world is not going to notice when you don't buy one of his company's cars. But if it makes you feel virtuous, buy something else. You action is inconsequential, but if nonetheless makes you feel, wrongly, like you're doing something useful, go for it.

You are wrong! Musk has to absolutely care as ceo of Tesla who reports to the board of Tesla and is answerable to investors. And a lot of his wealth is still from Tesla ownership. SpaceX which is getting the FAA contract is still private. And Neuralink - where he is firing his own FDA regulators is still early. Dude is busy trying to sell his cars to the government!

Bottomline: yes. Stop buying those cars and discourage your friends from buying them. The stealing by having government give him (a special government employee) sweet contracts has to stop. He can’t be both boss and customer. What a fraud!

Hmm. If Tesla sales drop (as they have in Europe quite dramatically) the stock goes down and his wealth decreases significantly. Sounds worth it to me.

This is so stupid! It is almost as if you do not have a basic understanding of business.

Musk got his start in Tesla by convincing liberals to buy his cars as a way to go green. The actions of individuals matter when taken as a group. Any one of them is not enough. It is the collective impact of thousands of people.

I hate the Tesla owners with the stupid stickers saying they purchased before he went crazy. So many in the DMV. Sell your car and don’t support this racist.
