What should I stock up on?

Anonymous
There's so many stores close by that we never stock up.

At the very minimum - we are always stocked up on - lentils, beans, rice, various kinds of flour, cooking oil, onions, potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, whole spices, ghee, tea leaves, sugar, milk powder, seeds, raw peanuts, nuts, dry fruits, condensed milk, full propane gas cylinder and camp stove.

We can cook up a storm even if we are stuck in our attic.

Why the need to identify "who" you are?? Plenty of people have those usual common ingredients and things in their homes, nothing to do with "who" you are

Are you kidding? Your average person’s kitchen is full of boxes of processed food, and they wouldn’t know ghee if it smacked them across the face.

Many people use ghee. Regular grocery stores carry them. It's not as special as you think.

But it is. It is our very special Indian gift to the whole wide world. Like Turmeric. Or Yoga. Or Golden Milk. Or Butter Chicken. Feel free to follow our lead. Namaste!!

I usually get a bag of onions, potatoes, pasta if aren't any in the house, Wegmans meatballs, bread, eggs and milk if not enough for 2 days, bananas, and few chicken breasts.

We are getting an inch of snow. Am I missing something?

This snowstorm is an inch (or none) forecasted now.
We are talking about generally before bigger snowstorms.

I no longer see snow or even rain in the forecast for at least five days.

Agree. I am from a northern state with heavy lake effect snow and have never seen the grocery store snow panic that is present in DC. I will never forgot when I moved to DC and the first time maybe 3 inches of snow was predicted and it was like Armageddon in the grocery store. Shelves cleaned of bread, milk, eggs, TP. What in the world. Look OP. There will not be any storm that is going to keep you unable to leave your house for 3 days max. Do you think you will starve to death in 3 days? Most people have enough food for decent living in their house on any given day to last at least a couple weeks. And more to the point, it is rare to have a storm that will keep you home more than one day.

Why is there so much anti-Indian sentiment in DC? I’m in NYC and I never see this here.

-non-Indian

I have never seen ghee called for in any non-south Asian recipe, or in the kitchen of anyone who wasn’t south Asian.
