Democrats who are upset

They can read Peggy Noonan's article and Michael Bloomberg's articles in today's WSJ. It tells them exactly what to do, particularly Bloomberg. They will not do it because the Democrats are stuck in the past and have not recognized the realities of the 21st Century. I became an independent after the DNC allowed Hillary Clinton to blackmail them again into letting her run for the presidency. She started the debacle of Trump/Biden/Trump. Until the Democrats face the reality and stop relying on the minorities that moved toward Trump, they are hopeless.

-Give up on increasing taxes for a cycle. Don’t touch trump’s tax code bc they think it helps them (it doesn’t)
-don’t focus on trans issues / pronouns. Most people in these red states have never met a trans person and they just don’t care
-focus on military, securing our nation
-focus on a strong immigration plan
-course correct everything T is doing. How will you fix federal funding? How will you protect our elderly? How will you help our college age kids? This is your largest base of voters.
-Get a Tim Walz type in. We need someone who has lived on a teachers salary. Limousine Liberals were the reason I hated democrats for so long. I was struggling financially and then someone making $1mil a year was trying to raise my taxes and just didn’t get my struggle.
-childcare: if you can make raising kids more affordable, you might be able to win some red state voters. You have to shape this in a way that doesn’t hurt kid free people.

The problem, friend, is that most of this is the antithesis of what the progressive wing of the party wants. And they call the shots.

Oh, and people in red states who have never met a trans person still care a lot about this issue. Just FYI.

Most of what the PP listed was Harris's agenda. Clearly the PP is out of touch because Harris lost to someone who said they would be a dictator on day one and has followed through with that promise.

I dont think Democrats can do much. Its amazing to me Trump managed to steal the usual Democrat constituencies like union members and tech billionaires because both Biden and Harris alienated them.

More likely scenario is Republicans overplay their hand and the disgust and blowback from people in the middle causes them to lose power. Its more about who is hated more than a affirmative vote.

- Take back the mic, everywhere.
-Create two types of communication, one for people who care about issues enough to ask questions/want details and a second for those who live on sound bites.

I see your point but Tim Walz was the wrong pick. I’m a teacher and couldn’t relate to him at all. I found him creepy as hell.

They need a centrist straight male candidate who can connect with every day people. But he needs to speak his mind and not just give canned politician answers. Also, the republicans were great at marketing/propoganda. The Dems need to follow that route.

So basically just be a Republican but not be Trump. What is what they will be up against in 2028. How would the Dems be different?

I’ve said this before on here but the Democrats can’t win until they bridge the gap between the anti-labor DEI movement and the labor movement, and I am not sure they can do that.

It’s a very depressing situation.

This is exactly why we lost. Trying to be the 2024 version of a sane Republican is just being a 1980-90s Republican. We need Democratic ideals, but with way better messaging and way less letting the most progressive parts of the party represent the entire party. We should work with progressives but not let them out front giving the appearance of control. Part of that was trumps doing, controlling messaging and forcing democrats to be reactionary, but it was the fault of the Democrats.

I agree. I also don’t think progressives reflect Democratic ideals. In fact I think most progressives now are much more similar to MAGA as far as their values.

We need to get to Democratic ideals: labor, food safety, health care reliability, clean air and water, middle class job stability. We need to move away from the authoritarians on the far left who the kindred spirits of the MAGA.

I will not do this.

I do not give two f s about your uterus, zero. I and many others care about placing a roof over my family's heads and feeding them. Apparently you and your uterus just don't get how unimportant you really are in the true scheme of daily life.

Ok? many people literally depend on birth control to be able to continue to house and feed their existing families.

Stop having sex. Easy peasy.

Np. Most abortions are done because women and their families want children but there are miscarriages or other birth defects that would cause death to either mother and baby.

Why don't get that?

I don't think that's true.

You need to give facts, not just ' I don't think so' there can be muliple reasons but by babning abortions you are banning care which will lead to more deaths.

Not your body, not your business

What is the anti-labor DEI movement? As far as I can tell, the GOP weaponized "DEI" as a bogeyman.

Become the party of the working class again.

Mandate e-verify
Support policies that stop illegal immigration
Support limits on birthright citizenship
Repeal h-1b and OPT

It really is common sense. Do what you can to help your fellow neighbors.
Only problem w/this, sounds like the R platform.
