If you are a Democrat and unhappy with things politically, what do you think the Democrats should do differently so they win?

Win what? He's apparently not leaving. However for rn, they need a majority in the legislature in 2026 to stop this nightmare.

they need to listen and realize that they are there to represent the will of the voters even of they dont agree with it and if they disagree so badly- dont run and let someone who is willing to "pander' to the voters and be held accountable to them run.

republicans have success b/c they put the opinions of their deplorable, selfish etc etc voters as their starting point. democrats act like an all knowing parent who is constantly trying to gently educate their auduence to be their "better" selves. voters are adults- they have opinions about stuff- LISTEN to them !! its a representative form of government and democrats act like its a benevolent dictatorship while they are running for office- do what you want once you are in office a la fetterman but like him, cater to what the voters want while you are courting their vote. noone is going to hold you to it!

if you look at the ads- kamala is for they/them, trump is for you ! was a blatent lie but at least they pandered to the idea that voters concerns and fears should be heard b/c money aside .. voters count. and the democrats sound like jesus at his most insufferable "look to those who are less, protect the weak BLAH BLAH BLAH" not realising that the growing inequality is making every voter feel vulnerable.

While it does seem likely that Dems will take back the House, I'm not sure how much that will really matter. Yes, it would mean all new laws must be bipartisan - but that is almost true now because Trump doesn't have 60 votes in the Senate. And Trump isn't governing by signing laws but rather by flooding the zone with executive orders.

Democrats would also gain the power of oversight, but what does that accomplish? Anybody can just ignore a subpoena knowing that the Trump DOJ won't prosecute them.

It’s hard to listen to them when they want to take rights away from me, my daughters and my friends. There is stark difference in moral opinion.

I’m a former republican from a red state with MAGA parents. Here is what they need to do to win:

-Give up on increasing taxes for a cycle. Don’t touch trump’s tax code bc they think it helps them (it doesn’t)
-don’t focus on trans issues / pronouns. Most people in these red states have never met a trans person and they just don’t care
-focus on military, securing our nation
-focus on a strong immigration plan
-course correct everything T is doing. How will you fix federal funding? How will you protect our elderly? How will you help our college age kids? This is your largest base of voters.
-Get a Tim Walz type in. We need someone who has lived on a teachers salary. Limousine Liberals were the reason I hated democrats for so long. I was struggling financially and then someone making $1mil a year was trying to raise my taxes and just didn’t get my struggle.
-childcare: if you can make raising kids more affordable, you might be able to win some red state voters. You have to shape this in a way that doesn’t hurt kid free people.

PP above- I forgot to add- shut up about abortions. We made that a key issue last election and it didn’t work. Nobody wants to hear about abortion. They want to hear about how you’ll decrease the cost of groceries, electronics, vacations and cars since that affects me.

Mandate e-verify
Support policies that stop illegal immigration
Support limits on birthright citizenship
Repeal h-1b and OPT

Whatever they need to do, they need to do in now and not just when people start campaigning. I am not hearing enough on the news about the destruction Elon Musk is doing to the government and how it affects the American people. Dems need to pushing this in the news cycle over and over again until people can regurgitate the talking points in their sleep. Their social security, Medicare, and other benefits can be gone in a click of a button… by someone who doesn’t even have a security clearance.
