Going to disagree she was more coherent. Why? Because she was unable to mingle with common people at places like a supermarket and express a simple message or statement. It is unbelievable that leaders of the Democratic Party fail to understand charismatic people have a vastly easier time being elected. Trump goes into a supermarket and actually mingled with people. He compliments a mother and her three boys, hands her a $100 and says her grocery bill is going down. Egg prices are going down. He pays for his groceries and then tells the cashier if there is money left over it is a tip for her. He got free press when news replayed the scene, when the mother was interviewed on TV, etc. Was it partially staged - of course it was but even though I can't stand Trump, he can mingle. Harris rarely extemporaneous spoke to common people even if it was staged. Videos of her visiting a store had secret service securing areas, and she is talking to Walz about Doritos. Then she blamed price gouging (except she pronounced it gaging in one speech) on food prices and said they would pass a law. I would guess a large percentage of Americans have no idea what price gouging is and how it can be fixed. Trump just said "I will be your food prices down" and people buy it. Who cares if it doesn't happen (obviously look at egg prices today). No one wanted to hear Biden /Harris deny that inflation was under control when most people are grocery shopping and were reminded every week their grocery bill was way higher. So the number one thing Democrats can do is find charismatic people who can mingle with the people and who can succinctly deliver a message in sound bites. The attention span of Americans is so incredibly short that long winded explanations don't work. Secondly, pick issues that aren't polarizing. Stop blaming and insulting people with whom you don't agree. The level of whininess and blaming everyone else is epic. You just have to look at the title of the threads to realize way too many Democrats don't understand this. The posts from some liberal women are shocking. It is posts like - African American and Hispanic voters who voted for Trump - full of racist assumptions and so incredibly patronizing. Or other posts that Hispanic and Black men are misogynists and are Hispanic who voted for Trump are too dumb to realize they voted incorrectly. James Carvel was spot on with his way too many "preachy women" take on the Democrats. Stop lecturing adults. In the real world not many people like a Hermione [it's leviOsa, not levioSA], it's sad but true. |
As usual, we’re outfoxed and outmuscled. Our nice intellectual “ethics” makes us pushovers & leaves a vacuum for oligarchs-tech money-Trump to swoop in. No one can even command the stage in the Democratic Party. It’s depressing. Half of them are talking about nonbinary BS. That ships has sailed folks. |
Won't that just happen by virtue of the Rich leaving the party after they get tired of investing in losers? You're already seeing that happen with the tech Bros. |
I think not sending the issue out is a mistake. I'm looking for some substantive signal that the party has done a 180 on the issue. Not just messaging but actual action like repealing sanctuary city laws across the nation. That sort of thing. The message I get, is they want the issue to go away without actually doing anything, and like Biden will spend most of their time undoing whatever Trump did -if- they get back in, which isn't making the issue go away. |
This isn't going to win you anything, because people don't believe this unless this starts happening. Right now it's being chalked up to the domain of fearmongering propaganda. If people start seeing their benefits cut and elderly struggling to survive they don't need you to tell them this, don't you think? They will be up in arms already. As far as information being stolen, this already happened if it happened, it's too late to do anything about it. |
These threads are just for Republicans to vent about why they dislike Democrats. Nothing useful here. |
How about those people that are ahead of the curve far enough to realize the inevitable truth? Both of our major political parties have become failed entities incapable of putting the needs of their electorate ahead of the needs of their mega-donors. Anyone who disagrees is a dimwit party sheep or someone with a financial stake in the success of these two awful major political parties. Sorry, truth hurts. |
Issues people care about that tend to be bi-partisan:
- being able to afford life on full time wages - clean and safe neighborhoods and low crime (affordable for everyone, not just affluent) - Affordable healthcare and childcare - upward mobility for those who invest in higher education and careers - not being afraid to go broke due to medical issues or inability to work full time - Affordable education that doesn't send one into debt slavery while paying wages similar to those not requiring a degree - Clean air, water, environment, nutritious healthy food that's not junk or poison - Medical freedoms and respect for one's personal bodily autonomy - lower taxes for people who get hit the hardest - respect for people's personal life choices within lawful order (live and let live) |
