But I replied on my phone before I officially signed on today—so what would that mean?

That you were working outside your authorized hours and not at your duty station and have therefore committed time card fraud and will be terminated.

We are ENCOURAGED to work outside our duty hours and station. I don't know what type of job you have?

Ours was from hr(random character)@opm.gov

So something is setup wrong

Same. Did the random character line up with your GS grade? Or maybe I’m reading too much into this. I’m still debating whether I want to respond to the message.

Oh, yes it did

It doesn't line up with your grade. We have a Title 42 under probation receive it from HR2, I received it under HR0 (GS-341-15), another receive it under HR7 (GS-685-15). Mine bounced back when I responded.

I got a mailbox full reply when I responded. It does suggest that, as in Trump 1.0, we are dealing with amateur hour.

THIS.
Direct spying. Direct orders without diluted or filtered information they think is going to be biased. Direct access to monitor who should be on their Schedule F list so they can fire them at will. Etc. etc. etc.

What if you don't reply? Are you the first to go?

No you are supposed to.

Still never got the email. Nobody in my office was discussing it on teams so I'm assuming nobody else did either. Spouse in different bureau also didn't get it. Checked junk email folder and unfortunately not there (would have made me laugh). Maybe they'll try again tonight.

Was I supposed to click the link or just reply Yes? I replied Yes. I hope Elmo received it!

Bargaining unit employees at my agency were advised by the union that the HR OPM emails are legitimate and requires our attention.

The union has instructed us to please respond to the test email as soon as possible because OPM will begin sending important emails, directives, and notices directly to federal government employees. "Responding to this test ensures that you will receive necessary information in the future. Failure to respond may result in missing critical updates and communications from OPM."

Uhhh.....how, exactly? If you send an email to our domain and the address isn't legitimate, you get an email telling you that. If you don't get that, it got delivered.

No, it looked like a phishing attempt. Haven't you had the phishing training?.

There is a tweet going around saying that they pushed the cio of opm aside, plugged in their own server and went to town with these emails.

Now that media has picked up the story and it's perhaps in some form on litigation, is anyone curious whether our friend Amanda Scales has temporary SCI?
