Thanks for letting Russia invade our IT systems.

After several people reported the OPM email as phishing, IT sent out a notice that it wasn't and we should "Please follow the directions in the email..."

Ours was from hr(random character)@opm.gov

So something is setup wrong

Same. Did the random character line up with your GS grade? Or maybe I’m reading too much into this. I’m still debating whether I want to respond to the message.

Interesting. Mine said HR17, but I'm not on the GS scale. However, I am a senior expert that may be akin to an SES.

Well, mine said HR4 and I’m a GS-15. For now. Maybe that’s advance notice for demotion.

I think they set up multiple addresses because their inboxes were timing out from too many replies. Someone said earlier that they replied but got a bounceback with that error.

I don’t really believe in “picking battles” but refusing to answer an email doesn’t seem like the hill to die on. I will save the freakout for when they ask me to do something that is actually ethically questionable….

I believe in defending our country, as we’ve been trained to do in all of our security trainings. Hope you don’t get fired.

This is going to happen eventually. Soon will we see emails asking us to attest to certain principles or ideologies? "Click yes or no". Or "reply YES confirming receipt and assertion".

Our agency said no action needed if you didn’t reply already.

I replied "the eggs are in the basement" and got a reply that said "free harry". I don't know what any of it means.

Our IT had to send out special bulletins because they were flooded by so many people saying it’s spam or phishing.

Our agency sent out advance notice which is what they were supposed to do. I wonder if they didn’t on purpose?
