For sure, our 16 year old DS still wets the bed to this day. It's a lifetime situation.

How often? My daughter same age had a few accidents last summer was most likely because she was drinking a lot before bedtime. I think this the first time she ever been for for almost 6 months. Hopefully it’s over.

They can be a lifesaver on long car trips for kids that might not be able to always wait for a rest-stop.

Did they just wear pull-ups until they stopped on their own?

They didn't have Goodnites back then. DS does wear wear one to bed.
That's one thing we should all be thankful for is that we do have bigger pull-ups available.

I agree. There weren't a lot of options when I was her age back then. I wont lie, it was quite embarrassing no matter what my mom said to me.

Both. Kept them in pull ups and then one day they just stopped. With the oldest, I tried alarms, putting her on the toilet at 11 pm etc but nothing worked. With the other two, I listened to the pediatrician and just waited them out.

Most of the time all you can do is wait until they outgrow it. I don’t think pediatricians even consider medication until a child is at least 10 years old.

Is he a very heavy sleeper? Mine would sometimes have an accident while he waking up and still halfway asleep. Do you check his pull-up when you get him up?

I have 2 boys, one stopped wetting at night when he was fully day-time trained at age 3. The other day-time trained at the same age but continued to wet at night until he was 8. He stopped with the help of a bedwetting alarm.

My brother occasionally wet the bed well into elementary school and my father until he was 12/13.

My son is AuDHD (level 1) and gifted and still wets the bed regularly at 9.5 years old. He's extremely embarrassed and ashamed about it. He also has difficulty changing his sheets. We found that wearing something like overnight pull-ups increased the likelihood that he would have an accident

Having a pull-up as a precaution isn’t going to make him any more likely to have an accident.

There is no reason he should feel embarrassed. It is a normal part of growing up. He will outgrow it soon enough.

I was a bed wetter as a child/teen. I remember having dreams of going to the bathroom and then awakening to actually going in my bed. After6, my Mom made me change and wash sheets. I had two accidents at sleepovers but no one really seemed to care. I have 3 girls and neither one ever had an accident after 2 when they were potty trained. I wish I had a timer when I was younger.
