| My 7 year old boy wets the bed most nights . His pediatrician says it's still normal for his age . When did everyone else's kids stay dry at night ? |
|
Daughter stoped having weekly accidents at 13….:
She’s 16 now, and had an accidents last 6 months ago before that she had accidents once every few months.. |
| My newly 9 yo DS is still wet, still in Goodnites and the pediatrician still says this is normal. There is nothing to do but wait and there are multiple threads on this here. |
| Kid is 12 and still waiting…. |

Pediatrician is right.
My son tends to wet the bed more often in the colder months, for...whatever reason. Can have a genetic component to it, ask your DH if anyone in his family also dealt with it. Otherwise, it's just a thing that time will sort out. Your kid has to develop a hormone called vasopressin (spelling?) or ADH/Anti-Diuretic Hormone. That will slow urine production overnight. Until that happens, it's unfortunately just a fact of life. Don't give him a hard time over it, you can't 'teach' nighttime dryness. |

Our son wet the bed through age 7. We found using a Bedwetting alarm (consistently, getting to him immediately to get his feet on the floor, walk him to the bathroom even if already peed) worked after several weeks.
Invest in pads that can sit on top of the fitted sheet. Just switch the wet one for a dry one, reattach the alarm and go back to bed. It felt like having a newborn again with the night wake-ups, but it worked. |
| Our pediatrician said that it improves with age gradually, but then almost always stops at puberty. That was our experience: Each year it got a tiny bit better, but was still a significant problem until about 12-14. |
| For me, it was around age 9 or so. It tends to run in families. My dad was the same. |

When DS turned 13 :_(
If I could go back, this is what I would have done. Get him to do fun exercises that strengthen the core and pelvic floor muscles! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYtyYr_O5zk Doctor never mention it, it was either wait and see or MEDS. |
Does he ever have an accident after? |
| For DS 13. He had one accident as a 13-year-old on a vacation where he had access to sugary drinks and soda all day. I tried everything when he was younger, but nothing worked. |
| Age 10 and wet every night still. |
| Op here he wears goodnites to bed . I don't think anybody wet the bed at an older age on dh side or my side when they were kids . We don't make a big deal out of it just wondering when everybody else quit or what they used to help manage it . Pediatrician said he wanted to wait tell he's older to try medicine |
| Around 8 or 9 (don't totally remember). Being wet did not bother him in the least. He eventually just outgrew it. He wore pullups but that was all we ever did to address it. One day he just decided he was done with the pullups. Kid was dry ever since. My older 2 daughters were done by 4 or 5. It's definitely kid specific. |
Same, my 10 year old shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. Her older brother was dry overnight around 8. I remember still having the occasional accident at 9. |
