Trump’s plan to improve dc

You’re kidding right? What experience does Trayon have? Bribe-taking?
What about Nadeau? Her last and only job paid $55k. Don’t start me on Allen.

PhDs in lying, bribe-taking, special interest, and patronizing the voters. Oh and Jewish weather control

Who will willingly join MPD?

Exactly. Demonize, hobble, second guess and prosecute law enforcement with abandon, lift up the criminal element at every opportunity (cue the tearful families demanding "justice" for armed criminals shot dead by police; paint BLM on public spaces, etc), and reap the predictable consequences.

So you voted in the criminal and not the prosecutor? What do you actually stand for? You are not trustworthy.

Criminals need to be in jail instead of released instantly. We were car jacked and car was involved in a crime. It truly upended our lives (car was impounded for months, we had to purchase a rental car ourselves, we had to testify) and then nothing happened to the guys! They were released.

+1

I’d rather live in a safe city where people on my ballot hadn’t been convicted of bribe-taking (there were at least 2 indicted and several suspected) and where illegal vehicles aren’t called “culture” and law abiding citizens of color told to shut their racist mouths by white demagogues.

And you are? Go take more bribes. Here’s the difference: we voted. We fully understood what Prop 83 means. Unlike you, we are in no way dependent on the city schools, handouts or healthcare.

I think the only way is to repeal the Home Rule. Go back to technocrat government, and then rebuild with term limits, checks and balances. Or federalize and don’t charge me the income tax.

Current status with DC Council in charge is unsustainable

It’s the small indignities and humiliations of daily life that lead to upheavals and revolutions. That criminals are out right back on the streets to terrorize you with ATVs, carjacking, robberies and yes, inability to buy basic products in your local stores, that really did it for us.

To be fair, I wonder if all voters actually fully understood what Prop 83 meant. Some people might have just seen as “oh look more choices to vote” and just checked the box for shts a giggles and out of confusion.

I did it knowing that it could result in more moderate candidates.

But did anyone else pay attention to the campaign from a lot of pandering liberals and left leaning folks who said “oh no! We can’t have ranked choice! It’s too confusing for poor voters in Ward 7 and 8!”

Like it was this ironic and extremely rude mindset that poor people didn’t understand it or, really, that they should be protected from their own choices. Just so much soft bigotry of low expectations. Like it’s pretty fked up that some know it all progressive would try and shoot down ranked choice under that banner. Basically, they knew that it could lead to more choices and potentially, gasp, less candidates like Nadeau. Pretty underhanded and patronizing.

Super progressive here, supported rank choice just like everyone else I know. Stop making up shit.

No one is “making sht up”.
Maybe inform yourself before running your mouth.

How incredibly patronizing of progressives and democrats to try and stymie ranked choice voting by claiming voters weren’t smart enough to understand it. It failed luckily. I’m sorry the democrats may not have an iron grip on the city because voters might be able to choose moderate candidates.

You started your statement saying people didn’t understand what they were voting for and then admonish liberals for assuming people wouldn’t understand ranked choice voting. You sound just like them.

Sure. You’re right. I’m a hypocrite. Doesn’t change the face that liberals were touting the harms of ranked choice voting by the soft bigotry of low expectations and “they don’t know any better”. It’s fked up. It’s partly why Trump won. People are fed up with progressive left wing nanny state bs.

It occurred at the time of (frankly regrettable) no chase policy (yet another pro-criminal DC Council measure). It was caused by a hit and run by a criminal who drove off from an attempted stop by a stationary police. You liar.

JFC. The title of the article is literally “man killed in DC police chase”. Frankly, I think the reporter that wrote the article and the MPD leadership that decided to refer the case to internal affairs for investigation know a little bit more than you. And why you are accusing other people of lying, you gaslighting nutbag?

What?

5,000 innocent bystanders have been killed since 1979 by police chases (https://www.newsweek.com/hundreds-are-killed-each-year-police-pursuits-many-them-bystanders-1734216).

It’s fine to take issue with many things the mayor and council have done, but this is one of the more evidence-driven policies.
