Agree with 15:24. She's awful, but it would be REALLY awful for her kids to lose their mom. |
Teddy has confirmed it’s Stage 4 melanoma. This sucks. |
Her husband is back in her life and acting as her primary caregiver. Her dad flew back to LA and stayed for a few weeks to support her ("he hates LA").
https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/teddi-mellencamp-has-4-more-brain-tumors-inside-her-cancer-battle-as-she-fights-for-her-life/ Ngl, I suspect that her cancer probably caused a major personality change and led her into an affair. Her husband is awesome for coming back to support her; many spouses wouldn't. |
I disagree. Their divorce wasn’t even finalized - I think they had just filed in November? Of course he has to step up - they have 3 small children! Most good men would! |
I watched the video. My heart just breaks for her - she does not look well. She says she finds out June 1 if all the treatment is working. |
Uh, wut? Do you think a woman would "come back" and care for a man with brain cancer who was cheating on her? Not if she had options. |
Generally it's only tumors on the brain that cause personality changes. Are her tumors on her brain? *Medical Degree straight from Seattle Grace Sloan Memorial Hospital |
Yes, they are. |
Are there statistics that give her some hope? I know this is weird as I’m not the Bravo stuff anymore but I was thinking of her. I have my annual derm and a mole check coming up soon and I thought of rescheduling and Teddi’s news made me think better of it. |
It seems off how she's laughing while talking about her kids living without her. She's either on serious medication or has not actually accepted the reality of the situation. I am not making fun of her. I've just never seen someone with such a serious diagnosis making a joke of it. |
The first person to die from my high school graduating class was from skin cancer that started on a mole on her back. She died within a year. She was single, so the dr said because no one really saw her back naked, it went unnoticed for too long and by the time she did a mole patrol with the dr, it was too late.
She was 35. Please get your moles checked. I don't even watch RH but I know who this woman is. It is so sad. |
She had/has several tumors in her brain. No doubt is has/is affecting her affect, emotions and personality. |
I didn’t take it that way. I see it as her making lemonade out of lemons. Saying “there’s no way they can live without me” in a joking manner is a defense mechanism. I don’t think it’s making light of her situation. I think she’s obviously scared sh$tless and I commend her for sharing her journey. She obviously uses humor to cope and that’s her right. |
Sadly, I don't think so. Several cancers (maybe more than several) can travel to the brain and from what I understand as a BC survivor, once cancer goes to the brain, time is limited. I think I also heard that she has several tumors in the brain that are inoperable. It's also in her lungs. Terribly sad. She's young and has young kids. |
I just don’t understand how this could happen when she was under careful supervision for all her moles the last few years. No one said let’s do an MRI to see if the cancer had spread?? Melanoma is deadly once it’s stage 4. |
