Teddi from RHOBH files for divorce

Anyone else feel like Teddi is the type to have a Nancy Kerrigan moment of crying "Why me?" repeatedly?

Well, when you cheat on your husband it's hard to feel sorry for you when you end up getting divorced. She knew his wife and the fact that they had a young child and a baby on the way. She was friends with his wife! It's despicable what she did.

She's been desperate to change the narrative from her cheating.

Look we know she made a mistake with the cheating. She knows it. But now she’s dealing with something worse. Let’s have a little compassion.

Is it possible that nothing else progressed, and there were no signs of cancer anywhere else in her body, and now it's stage 4 in her brain? Honest question, I don't know. But it would seem like you would be aware that the cancer spread before it got to your brain?

You would not necessarily be aware of cancer spread before it got to the brain. Once cancer cells metastasize, they can do anywhere. Including the brain. She could’ve felt perfectly fine until she had some symptoms (headache, blurry vision), etc. Her doctor has probably now done a full body scan + bone scan to check for metastasis in other organs and the bones. But yes, totally possible it was melanoma with metastasis to the brain.

Also possible it was a second cancer. Did she say if it was benign or malignant?

I would think she’d be symptomatic of spread elsewhere too? Regardless - I hope they are unrelated, benign tumors.

She had debilitating headaches for 6 months. That’s the symptom. It’s not known publicly if the tumors are benign or malignant.

No, not really. When cancer metastasizes, patients typically learn about it via a scan (with no accompanying symptoms) or they have symptoms. When they have symptoms, the symptoms are usually tied to the actual place where the cancer metastasized. So if it metastasizes to your bones = you may have bone pain, fractures. If it metastasizes to your brain = you may have headaches or blurred vision. If it metastasizes to an organ like liver or lungs = you may have trouble breathing, pneumonia, etc.

The scary thing is you can actually get to stage iv, metastasized cancer and have zero symptoms. Rare but it does happen. You wouldn’t know it until you do get symptoms or you happened to have a scan (CT, PET, etc).

I’ll try to remain optimistic but after her recent brain tumor surgery, scans revealed multiple other brain and now lung tumors.

Wow that’s terrible. I really hope she’s able to beat what’s happening to her health.

That’s awful. Her kids are still pretty young. F cancer. Hopefully there’s a really good treatment protocol for her specific tumor subtype.

I only know about metastatic cancer from my mother who had a very rare sarcoma that was ultimately fatal following several years of treatment. Some people posted online on reddit that they were successfully treated for metastatic melanoma using immunotherapy. That sounds like an incredible developmemt.Hopefully immunotherapy is successful for Teddy!

Here’s her latest Instagram post:

Update from my scans today:

I have multiple tumors in my brain that weren’t able to be removed via surgery. I also have 2 tumors in my lungs. These are all metastases of my melanoma.

The doctors are hopeful that immunotherapy will effectively treat them.

I am feeling positive— that I will win this battle, that I got this wig (I like the short hair, just not the bald spots), and that I can remember all of Angelina’s kids’ names.

Now, as @bravoandy would say: with all due… f*** off, cancer!

This is very frightening.

My friend has melanoma that metastasized to her brain and lung. Had a tumor on her brain stem that they successfully removed, but could not do that for the tumors in her lung. She responded immediately to the immunotherapy that she did, I think it was a biologic drug, and went into remission within a year. She’s been in remission for the past 5. I know it’s a sample size of 1, but it makes me hopeful for Teddy. I really don’t like Teddy on the show or her podcast or her diet company which is so restrictive and unhealthy in practice and on her actions from the last year where she cheated on her husband with a many who also had young children and a pregnant wife she was friendly with, but obviously want this mother of young kids to make it.

This is incredible. Good for your friend. It's good to hear that immunotherapy has advanced to the point of successfully treating metastatic cancers.
