My guess is she was doing scans once or twice a year and the metastasis occurred in a period between the scans. My mom had melanoma when she was young, and my grandmother who was a nurse told us all that melanoma cells are known to spread quickly. Maybe someone with medical background can explain it better than I can. I've known two people who had recurrent metastatic cancer in spite of being very vigilant with regular scans. Sometimes people have few symptoms. |
President Carter had a brain and liver metastasis from melanoma successfully treated with immunotherapy. |
She had debilitating headaches. Everything pointed to it. I can’t believe they missed this. |
She’s been pretty vocal about the fact that even though she had horrible headaches, she did not go to her doctors. She seems to have some doctor/health care anxiety (if you look at her stories from the initial melanoma diagnosis she waited a long time and needed friends to go with her to get the moles checked). She’s mentioned on stories that she started not feeling well but wanted to push through/not complain because she is “tough”. Clearly that was a massive mistake- I’ve also recently heard her urge people not to let their anxiety get the best of them and to stay on top of their health. |

Wow. I didn’t know this. That’s encouraging. |
Yes I do. Look at what Khloe did for Lamar when he had an overdose. I think stage IV cancer requires the betrayed spouse to quickly get over it and step up for the sake of the young kids. |
They were asymptomatic? Regardless, unless people are stage 4, CT/PET scans are not routinely done to check for recurrence unless there are symptoms. |
She had melanoma already. No one thought to do an MRI to see if it had metasticized when we know melanoma is fast moving? |
Agree 😔 |
Positive update from Teddi! She says the tumors have shrunk considerably or disappeared. She has 2 more immunotherapy sessions and is hopeful she will be cancer feee by then!!!! Woo!!! Incredible news! |
Wow thanks for sharing! |
