Best place you’ve ever traveled?

Our favorite vacations are to national parks. Last year we camped at Crater Lake followed by Redwoods, and both were spectacular. The campsite at Redwoods was the most amazing campsite I've ever experienced.

I have loved different places for different things. I think you should do your own research instead of asking other people because their answer probably is specific in why they loved it and may not be what you are seeking.

Agree.

Iceland - just other worldly
Italy, UK - beautiful architecture and rolling country side
South Korea - food, shopping (for those of us petite gals; not so great for the larger sizes)

I haven't traveled that extensively, but those are some of the places that stand out to me personally.

NP. Oh please, it’s just true. I’m a size 2 and in Japan I had to buy a size large! There really aren’t options for anyone who’s not small.

Some people just want to be offended. The deal with the sizing in Asian countries has been discussed a lot on this forum. And there's nothing body-shaming or offensive in saying, "larger sizes."

Asking other people IS doing research.

I'm so tired of you.

Lamu island off the coast of Kenya. We took a small boat from the mainland that was rowed across by two sailors, we stayed in a house covered in mosaics with no glass in the windows, slept under mosquito nets, ate fried bananas and donuts for breakfast, fresh caught lobsters for dinner and walked along completely uninhabited white sands. It was totally beautiful, like being on the moon.

Not a beach lover, although I've been on many mentioned here. It so depends on what you're looking for.

I absolutely loved Siem Reap, Cambodia, because we were there with friends and had amazing meals for pennies.

I loved Cusco (Peru) because (a) the altitude didn't affect me and (b) I love textiles.

I loved our Nile Cruise because we were the only people on the boat who actually went up on the top deck (lots of old folks) so we got to experience the locks basically solo.

I could go on, but the bottom line is you need to know yourself and know what would make an experience memorable for you. I can't stand crowds, so we never travel "in season" and as a result we experience many places in less than perfect weather but without the crowds.

Know thyself and plan your travel accordingly.
