Liked Lima quite a bit. Very good food, although when I went to Central, it was a tad conceptual for me personally. |
The Garden Route in South Africa |
So much of enjoying a place is situational and context-dependent. Some of the best places I went were about the time in my life and the people I met.
I think some of the most beautiful places I have visited are Harpers Ferry, the national parks in and around Utah, the Dolomites, the Lake District in the UK, Lake Maninjau, Plitvička, Dubrovnik, santorini (off season!), the Rhine around Bingen, the Batad rice terraces, Palawan, Praslin, and Oaxaca. |
Vietnam. What an astoundingly beautiful place. |
Both are beautiful if you go to the right beach. Maldives is made up of many different islands. Male the capital isn't so pretty. The further away you get from the capital and the big resorts, the prettier it gets. |
I mean this is a hard question. Do you love beautiful scenery, food, shopping. family activities?
I have loved different places for different things. I think you should do your own research instead of asking other people because their answer probably is specific in why they loved it and may not be what you are seeking. |
I’ve been to 55 countries and nothing rivals Antarctica. |
I loved Croatia in 2006 but it’s different now.
Places I keep returning to: Rome, Puerto Rico, Paris |
Where in Puerto Rico? (You didn’t say “Italy” but it’s still too big an island to visit in one trip leaving aside Vieques and Culebra). |
Morocco |
Some of my favorite trips were Sicily, Switzerland, Slovenia and Thailand/Cambodia. |
Tough question! I’ve loved so many places for different reasons: Italy (food, people, La dolce vita vibe), Switzerland (scenery, hiking), Norway (same!), Bermuda (beaches, people, history), Ivory Coast (beaches, vibe).
I’ve been meaning to explore some of our National Parks so I’m interested to hear some of the other responses. |
Tanzania safari, New Zealand, Tuscany especially at dusk, Jackson/Tetons. In terms of cities, Paris, Brugge, Prague, Budapest. In the US, Chicago in the summer/fall. |
Isn’t crossing those waters to get to Antartica hard? |
I meant the Drake passage. |
