Say it louder for the people in the back, please. |
As an LCPS parent and former APS parent, I just want to point out that everyone should be more alarmed by the right-wing propaganda outlets sensationalizing this to their unhinged readership (which is why there were threats).
The Daily Wire and New York Post are part of the vast right wing conspiracy Hillary Clinton spoke so accurately about all those years ago. They do not follow any journalism tenets, operate in bad faith always, aren’t interested in any way, shape or form in truth, and are simply not credible outlets to be taken seriously. Their “coverage” of local schools should always be viewed with extreme skepticism — they are exploiting the schools for a more cynical political agenda. And they are putting your children at risk. We saw this in LCPS a couple of years ago with the rabid, inaccurate coverage of transgender issues that whipped conservatives, all of whom are mentally ill, into such frenzies that people would attend board meetings from out of state. It was all grandstanding bullshit and led to the false pretenses that allowed Youngshit, the worst governor in Virginia’s history, to be elected. LCPS is still struggling to recover from the bullshit. Don’t let that happen to APS. |
Truly. This reminds me of the time the NRA posted a story about opposition to a gun store in Cherrydale. Nothing good came out of that for our community. There may be reasons to criticize the teacher, but pretending the source of the original article doesn’t matter is irresponsible. |
Of course you should make sure you trust the media reporting this. But she’s espoused the same rhetoric at APS school board meetings. Aps has known about this for a long time. |
She criticises Israel policies during school board meetings? And? |
Your wording suggests that there IS a place for anti-semitic teachers. |
There’s probably a few in Gaza. |
The world gave Palestine to the Zionist Jews as a cruel joke. Atone for one genocide by starting another, to make the Jews the instrument of their own destruction. Israel will be the death of Judaism. |
I'm sure this is life-changing for your kid in APS. |
English teachers of all people should be expected to spell the word correctly. |
So, facts don't count when spoken by people you don't like? |
We've seen for a year (when most commenters first discovered that Israel and Palestine exist) how adults are too stupid to discuss this intelligently. Why drag kids in school into it? |
Because it's literally a place of learning and they should learn. |
Please explain the difference between a political view and explaining current events using facts. When does discussing Israel/Gaza veer out of discussion because there's disagreement? In my view, it means it needs to be discussed MORE. |
This a 1000 times! It is likely to impact some of the kids directly. The war is spreading and intensifying and it is likely that the US will send troops at some point. Hell, even before that, it's likely to affect the elections in a month. Since they are 17 year olds whose government asks them to register for the draft (for example) how it is not relevant which war they might be fighting in? Our kids should be aware of what's going on in the world. |
