I am shocked by JD Vance and don't agree with his politics but I think Usha did a very nice job under the circumstances for her first appearance on a stage of this size/scope with very short notice. They got engaged when they were still in law school. If you watch interviews with him from even 4 years ago, he was much farther to the left -- he believed climate change was a huge problem and was a proponent of solar energy, for example.

It's like the moms who say they'll do everything to protect their sons, even if they were committed of violent sexual crime. Loving someone doesn't mean enabling them and their inhumanity.
