+1 All I’m asking for is a mid-rise option. My roommate and I once measured our torsos in college. She had 4 more inches between her belly button and her bra line than I did, even though we were the exact same height! She has an extremely long torso and I have an extremely short one. |
I've been able to find plenty of "regular" jeans (though all more midrise, my preference), but dang, all the sweaters are either sweater dresses or crops. I found a few that I like, but when I lift my arms I'm still showing some tummy

I'm the PP you're quoting -- I am 5'2" with a short torso and long legs, which means my ideal pair of jeans is a 9-10" rise with a 31" inseam. There are VERY few pants that offer this. I'll never understand the ladies on here saying "high rise for everyone, low rise looks terrible on everyone". It's like you forget that we come in all different shapes and sizes!!! |
This. I have a loooong torso and high rise jeans are mid rise on me. I need them to stick around. |
Same. I have a long torso and high rise jeans look better on me (at least I think so and nobody has stopped me to say otherwise). Plus, I'm sick of seeing muffin tops on everyone else. |
| I have always hated low rise, prefer mid- and high-rise pants. I don't want anything below my navel. |
Low rise doesn’t have to mean like what Brittany spears wore in early 2000’s. I am almost 60 and a lower rise looks better on my figure. My torso looks longer and in better proportion. And my butt crack is not showing if that’s what you are imagining ! |
Me too. I’m of similar age and look better in high rise pants as well. |
| Can we end this thread? We're all shaped differently and it would be nice if clothing designers offered options for everyone instead of insisting that we all have to wear what they are telling us is in style. |
Same!! I hated the early 2000s late nineties low rise. Barely buttoned over my pubic region. High rise in me goes to just about bell button. |
