What season is boys volleyball?

Because basketball still has activities in the fall.

Yeah, but for every other season/sport the in season teams have priority over the out of season teams.

All the spring sports have indoor green days during the winter and basketball gets priority at that point, so it seems like they manage to make it work for every other sport, but *shrug*

you can shrug, but if it comes down to boys basketball or boys volleyball getting gym space, I can guess which team will come out on top at most schools

How does your DSA allocate space? Most schools it is in season sports first.

The basket.ball "green days " are towards the END of the fall sports season-over the half season mark.

I’m your neighbor in West Springfield and there are lots of boys’ volleyball practices going on at the St James at least when I’ve been there weekly with my (non-VB) son.

Ironically Field Hockey is a huge male sport in many other countries

We went to a Commonwealth Games’ men’s hockey game in 2022 and were all excited when my friend said she could get us tickets because we’d be inside nice and cool. Then it slowly dawned on us the Commonwealth Games are in the summer so we checked and sure enough, it was field hockey. My British friends got a laugh out of us saying “hockey” would be assumed to be ice hockey in the US and that men typically don’t play field hockey here.

If the girls wrestling was the answer to adding a girls sport, I agree flag football would have been a better choice.

Do you seriously not know that boys/men's volleyball is a huge sport in much of the U.S. and the world? It's actually odd that it has NOT been at high schools in northern Virginia. Being from the west Coast it's so weird to be to see people thinking of it as a girls' only sport...I have a sister who lives in the Norfolk area whose sons play volleyball in high school, too, not so far away. Also the more sports the better - give kids options to exercise and be part of teams.

Right? This plus the # of people saying “I don’t know anyone who plays” and thinking that their limited knowledge should somehow be the deciding factor re: FCPS sports. Insane.
