Bear her how? |
Maybe it’s true, but her “work ethic” is mostly just her personal brand. |
Yes, she is dedicated to herself and her personal brand but she excels at self promotion. Just her weddings create so much buzz for her. It's impressive to watch such mastery. Obviously, no denying that luck has been on her side for decades. |
She isn't a gifted singer or actor and not a conventional Hollywood beauty, that's what makes her success so remarkable. |
+1 Watched it (or tried to...fast forwarded a lot) last night and came here to see if anyone is commenting on it. I love J. Lo. She inspires me. She looks incredible. Great actress; good music. Works her ass off. But that new special she has...yuck. Looks like it cost tens of millions of dollars, too. Super boring an embarrassingly self-involved. |
I have followed J Lo since she played Selena in the 1990s. I'm her age. I didn't know she was a dancer on In Living Color until she was already singer/actress famous.
I'm sure she feels the need to stay relevant now in her mid50s. She's doing great. I hope she does what many other performers have done before her. When it's time, she can pivot like Bette Midler and Rod Stewart and she can become more of a classic singer/performer. I saw Sheila E perform, and she's still great in her 60s. I don't see why J Lo can't continue singing and performing however she wants as long as she has the fans. I want J Lo to have longevity in her career as she continues to age. As a fan, I will continue to support her and not tear down another woman my age. Plus, she's friends with Lisa Remini, who I also admire a lot for how she stood up to Scientology. I saw her in ad on YouTube for hair growth serum. I was surprised. She doesn't need it. However, she's making the big bucks. It's probably an adjustment for her to be attacked. I saw her in a live interview with Lisa Remini. And she talked about how social media made life in the public eye even tougher. Why? Agents can't control social media the way Old Hollywood Glam could control the press in the 1940s. |
I'm the PP. I also adored her performance as an Italian American with Matthew McConaughey in The Wedding Planner. |
Leah Remini And last I heard they had a falling out a while back. I hope that isn't still true. |
She can act. I don’t think there is any doubt of that. She hasn’t always chosen (or been given) the most serious roles, but she can act. I like her songs, but I know she’s not a great singer. But overall onstage with the great dancing and the decent singing, she’s a good performer. So she’s good at her career. Looking good is a part of her career. She also has had successful fashion and beauty brands. Looking good is definitely good for those businesses. Do you “feel sad” for people who are good at their careers? Doctors and lawyers who put in insane hours, etc.? She’s dedicated. I think she’s not just beautiful, she’s interesting, hard-working, and talented. I think the vanity projects are a bit much, but here we are, talking about her. If she bugs you, just turn away and focus on something else. +1. Well said! |
+1 to this, too! Also very well said! |
She was the best fly girl back in the day. |
I think Leah didn’t condone the Ben marriage so she cut her off. Leah chose not to attend the wedding. |
I think it was inappropriate of her to talk about the letters he supposedly. It's hard to get in this amazing love story when both were married with kids |
I saw this as well. She basically talked about love letters between 2001 and 2010. They broke up in 2003 and he got together with Jen Garner and married and had kids starting in 2003. Very tacky - I’m sure John is 100% over it seems like coming out with that timeline is just JLO flaunting it. I’m sure she will be shocked when he cheats on her though. So dumb. |
Obviously meant I’m sure Jen G is over it. |
