New Interim Superintendent Monique Felder

Anonymous
Dr Felder parted with the Orange County North Carolina School system after 3.75 years, one year before her contract term.
Per the MCPS press release, Dr Felder had previously been subject to a financial disclosure investigation that the BOE feels is not an issue.

Orange County NC Schools student population 7,200 students < MCPS 160,554 students (3 of our High Schools).

Some might ask, is this really the most qualified person for this job and why is it being rushed through. How much will we have to pay her to go when this doesn't work out.

Yes. I've had a kid successfully go through the GT/LD program in MCPS, and I know there have been cuts to such programs in the past 7 years. However I will give this person the benefit of the doubt. We should always start off with a clean slate.

A hearty welcome to Dr. Felder. I hope she knows parents don't fall for buzzwords and want real action on school safety; and quality instruction, particularly phonics instruction in early elementary.

If she can show seriousness in those areas out of the gate, then I'll be reassured. Until then, based on what's been unearthed, I'm very nervous.

Yup He was definitely too "woke" for many here. He was all about inclusiveness. A lot of pharisees out there trying to demonize equity/diversity/inclusiveness, just to hoard the riches for themselves.

Here’s to hoping she arrives with her cup filled and already knowing what her why is!

She has job jumped a lot so no real experience in any job. Wonder who she knows or who owes her.

It seems like race and gender are key filter criteria for this position. If true, it's very sad for our kids. Leaving a lot of talent off the table.

What a damning indictment of Dr McKnight. Leadership 101 is having a strong deputy or key figure with whom board could rely upon in her absence. She already had health scare and should have been grooming her replacement.

This is how you know you’ve got embattled B Teamers in charge. The next one is coming in with real ethical doubts so will spend valuable time on defense.

Moco will only change when something like what is happening in NYC happens. when the folks in chevy chase, potomac, and bethesda start reaping the damage their wokeism causes, then they will change how they vote. Otherwise, these insulated limo socialists are immune to what is going on.

in the 80s, the reputation of the republican was the rich white middle aged dude.

Now, it's the liberal democrat who is a rich white middle aged guy. He wants to keep the status quo because it's lining his pockets in one way or another. Government funded industries make many leeches rich.

Why do you think that? If the interim was a white male, would you say the same? Because that is all they have seemed to pick in the past and you were fine with it. Sure, you picked apart Jack Smith but not once did you say he was there because of his race or gender. Interesting when they don't pick the norm, which is a white male, it is somehow about race and gender. It was about race and gender before too - you just don't want to recognize it. And you're dumb.
