| You know this glib and dismissive tone is really counter productive. You have a principal who is chronically absent, has terrorized and alienated staff, has overcrowded classrooms including a fourth grade class last year that had 32 kids crammed into it, is visibly sparring with and retaliating against parents who are fed up with the administration and are exercising their right to go to the BOE for help, and who has a completely incompetent new front office staff who are on their phones, or not even in the front room half the time. It’s not a joking matter. The problem is the principal and bratty nasty toxic comments like yours show your passive aggressive nature- you wouldn’t dare say this to anyone’s face. The parents at this school are going through the correct channels to get help for the school staff and this is admirable and I hope it improves staff morale. And if this principal keeps retaliating against parents I hope she is fired!! I for one will report her petty behavior and I know others will too! |
Thank you!! I am being completely serious. I do not understand the tenor either but truly appreciate the well spoken and productive leaders who are trying to move things forward and change the culture at the school. |

Me too. At this point all the adults on this chat and at the school have to put their feelings aside and focus on the children. This is not an optimal Learning environment and with just a few adjustments and meeting in the middle both management and staff can find a way to heal and move forward for the good of the kids at this wonderful school. |

Staff don’t continue to complain about a beloved leader who is absent due to a chronic health condition. The expressions they use are retaliation. Punishment. Written up. Reported. Walking on eggshells. Double standards. And more.
And there’s no “you people” there are just parents and staff who care and want to help. Apathy and toxic rage are not ok responses to the parents trying to help!! |

How would you KNOW she had a chronic health condition unless she told you? Do you think people wear t-shirts saying, “I have a chronic condition”? Do you think she would trust these meddling nobodies with her personal business? You sound dumb. No wonder your kid’s scores are in the toilet. Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. FWIW my kid did just fine. But I also do my part as a parent - maybe that’s the difference between me and the whining parents. |

If the principal can’t do the job, whether due to a chronic health condition or another reason, she should be put on leave. But that’s not the MCPS way. They like to keep ineffective and even abusive leaders in place until forced to act.

Travilah is a non-FARM school, meaning our children must score significantly higher to compete with students from FARM elementary schools. Based on that standard, "fine" is not sufficient. |
