This. I wish I had done it earlier. It was getting wet and heavy in the afternoon.

We’re in northern Montgomery County. We cleaned off our car and finished shoveling around 5:45 this evening. Then a squall passed over us and dumped more snow.

That's why you lay down just a small bit of ice melt. Shoveled at 8am yesterday, put down a modest amount of ice melt, and nothing has stuck since.

What did you expect? And it turns out old ladies are shoveling and young men not shoveling?

In my neighborhood it’s the big new build houses that aren’t shoveling the common sidewalks in front of their houses. It’s annoying.

In my neighborhood, the people from north of here all shovel their sidewalks. The ones from here and south do not. Very few exceptions

I wish that were true but the lone non shovelor on my block is from Michigan.

Me, me me

What did this mean? Should i pour some concrete sidewalks over my neighbors' property?

Humble brag. Why do we care if they shoveled? Big deal. I did too and dont feel the need to post snd share the news.

I don't think youre using humblebrag correctly here. It looks like no one shoveled because there are no sidewalks to shovel.

I love shoveling snow. Excellent excercise. I make a point to shovel our older, Trump-supporting neighbor's pavement too, just to show that Biden supporters are better.😇

I like shoveling too. I wouldn’t mind shoveling for some of our older neighbors but I think one has a child come and do it and one I think would not appreciate the suggestion they could use help.

sent my teen son over to help a 70ish neighbor and they declined, but another couple in their '60s saw him out and asked him to come over and shovel and they paid him.

Can someone even sue over snow and ice if there is no local ordinance requiring removal?

In our neighborhood of teardowns and infill homes, the new owners of the infill homes have not shoveled. I don’t know if they don’t understand it’s their responsibility or if they just don’t care but it’s very rude.

No but you can shake your tiny fist at nature and yell at the clouds

Some of us have to work all day and haven't been able to take a break from meeting after meeting to go shovel.

Some of us aren't lazy AF, and did it before work like my neighbor and I. They shovled at 6:30. I shoveled at 7am, laid down a little ice melt, and the rest takes care of itself.

But you have time to post on DCUM, ok super busy pp. Probably also the kind of person to not clean all the snow from their car.

I'd rather someone wait until after work to shovel than listen to the scraping of your shovels at 6:30 or 7am!

You would not like me as a neighbor.

Well, my kids certainly wouldn't!

Of course. Someone can sue you if they trip and fall in your home because they are clumsy, even if you did nothing wrong. That’s why people have umbrella insurance.

Do you work the night shift or something? 6:30-7 isn't that early on a weekday.

No, but my teen and tween love to sleep in when they can. I was up and running on the treadmill at 6:00 but my kids slept until 9.
