Love not shoveling sidewalks!

I love shoveling too. Like you said, it is satisfying. I love dragging out the snow across the driveway. Don't like the lifting it and dumping it because I am not strong enough but it comes as a package. And I am from a place where we never got snow.

This. I wish I had done it earlier. It was getting wet and heavy in the afternoon.

Some of us have to work all day and haven't been able to take a break from meeting after meeting to go shovel.

Some of us aren't lazy AF, and did it before work like my neighbor and I. They shovled at 6:30. I shoveled at 7am, laid down a little ice melt, and the rest takes care of itself.

But you have time to post on DCUM, ok super busy pp. Probably also the kind of person to not clean all the snow from their car.

I'd rather someone wait until after work to shovel than listen to the scraping of your shovels at 6:30 or 7am!

Do you work the night shift or something? 6:30-7 isn't that early on a weekday.

Be careful. You may hurt your shoveling arm if you fall off that pedestal

Nope! I slipped and fell on city sidewalk on Tuesday - it hurt like a mofo. I don't want that to happen to anyone else, so I make sure my sidewalks are clear and safe, ASAP.

It's fascinating how lazy excuse makers try to make decent people feel guilty or something. It's not a big thing to do the bare minimum - clear your sidewalks and clear your car completely.

I have some bad news for you, brother. The whole thing is your responsibility.

If it is any consolation - I have shoveled three times today and it has been wet and heavy all day .., I had hoped to get my DC to a medical appointment but our street was not ploughed until 4 pm …

Well done everyone who has been helping elderly neighbors or anyone really ..

And for those who had to work and could not shovel - sorry to hear that and hope you have kind neighbors who helped out …

it will be really cold tomorrow - so hope everyone has warm dry houses and can enjoy hot cocoa/ a good book/ game/ comedy or whatever helps you feel cosy on snowy wintry days.

I am hoping to be visited by the poet and painting snow fairies to inspire some creativity … ❄️☃️☕️ 📚

How so? New development with a long row of single family homes near each other.

We’re in northern Montgomery County. We cleaned off our car and finished shoveling around 5:45 this evening. Then a squall passed over us and dumped more snow.

I'm in the suburbs north of Baltimore. I shoveled around 2 PM after the main snow had passed through and it was only light fluries. It was not heavy or wet. Very easy to shovel despite 3-4 inches. The people who had shoveled earlier in the day had to do it again by mid afternoon.

Then it snowed again around 6 when fast moving flurries passed through, and I went back outside and swept it off the sidewalk and drive and sprinkled some salt. The evening flurries was wet and heavy and almost ice. Be careful tomorrow!

I report the ones who don't. Our county has an ordinance that you have to shovel within 24 hours of the snow stopping. I shovel our elderly neighbors, but have no sympathy for the lazy neighbors with teen kids home who leave icy sidewalks for kids/dog walkers to navigate.

On my whole street of probably something like 25 houses, there is one couple who does not shovel! And for years they had teenage boys living at home. They are empty nesters, but on the youngish side and very fit. They walk a lot and the guy mows his own lawn. They are certainly capable, but they NEVER SHOVEL!

A condo building near me refuses to shovel the sidewalks around their building. It's been a sea of clean sidewalks outside of businesses and other properties in the area, and then these guys with ice all over their parking lot and sidewalks.

What did this mean? Should i pour some concrete sidewalks over my neighbors' property?

Humble brag. Why do we care if they shoveled? Big deal. I did too and dont feel the need to post snd share the news.
