You can suck and swallow - what's not to love.

I use a plastic Owala for the gym but their metal bottles don’t fit in my standard Toyota cupholders and after a while the lids got hard to close—needed a ton of force for them to snap shut.

Do you not have a dishwasher?

Certain water bottles can’t be put in the dishwasher.

Studies show the ones that keep water cold the longest are the Owala FreeSip, Hydroflask Standard and ZOJIRUSHI Stainless Steel Mug will keep your water cold the longest.

And my obsession is which bottle holds ice the longest. According to tests the Owala FreeSip and ZOJIRUSHI Stainless steel. Plus Owala bottles are not cartoonishly large.

Never mind the kids I’m getting a freeSip and testing how long the ice lasts.

My kids’ school only allows water bottles that seal (no straw cups like Stanley because they kept getting knocked over and spilled) and the Owala free sip seems to be the trend now. Stanleys are for moms.

Perfect. May daughter had the hydroflask, then the Stanley's. I'll get myself an Owala and needle her about copying me when this show's up on her school's radar!

My teens have hydroflask, Stanley and Owala and while they rotate them, Owala seems to be the current favorite - it’s also the newest. I had not heard of them either until my kids got them as gifts.

I have a Zorushi for coffee. It really does keep things hot and cold.

But the point for teens is to be cool, so just get them the stupid water bottle. At least this trend is healthy! It will all be trash in six months anyway.

No my kid thinks they’re overpriced and not useful. It leaks, has a hard to clean straw etc. I even suggested it for Christmas when I was searching for ideas and it was a No.

My coffee can still be too hot for me hours later in the zoshiruchi. I haven’t found anything that comes close.

It isn’t enough. The dishwasher does poor job with cups like these. You need to be taking about the lid, the tab piece, the straw and cleaning them individually (narrow brush for straw) and letting them fully dry. And people are lazy…especially teens. As long as it looks cool, who cares if there is mold growing

Exactly, who DOES actually care? A tiny amount of mold that may grow in a straw is completely irrelevant.

Well, then don’t get your DD one then. But there is nothing wrong with wanting to have something very practical and also pretty.

Hating things because other people like them is elitist, tiresome, petty and also really not desirable. Raise your kids not to be contrarian ass hats.
