This is why my daughter didn't get one. She settled on an Owala free sip. It's all over Tiktok too.

Stanleys are for middle aged moms. Owalas are for teens.

No, my kids are smart enough to not bother asking for things that are ridiculously expensive for what they are.

Is that how smart they are? Wow. Is that going on their college apps?

Stupid and no I won’t get one. Kids aren’t even drinking a significant amount of water. It is purely an accessory they carry around. Get a purse

Did you carry a water bottle around all day as a kid? This whole concept is dumb and unnecessary. Drink water with meals, before you leave for school, intermittently in the halls between classes if needed, when you get home. No one needs to walk around with a giant 40oz water jug everywhere

I would have if we would have been allowed to. I don't know why you'd be so militant about it.

Yes, isn’t this how it goes? I moved a lot, didn’t grow up with money, and was pretty insecure as a kid. I wanted all the trendy things.

We are very comfortable now, and my kids could care less. They don’t want one. But I may get myself one, because I’m still a little middle schooler inside, lol. (And it really does blow my mind to think that many rich kids don’t care or even notice when someone does or doesn’t have something. Wish I had that insight when I was a kid.)

We got my DD a new one the 32oz one off of ebay in a discontinued color (her choice) for $15. She said it's OK, but it's a bit heavy. She doesn't know how people carry them all around school. We keep hers home. Tho I really sorta can say that it does keep ice cool for a long time. Seeing people go crazy over them at Target is just insane. It's the cabbage patch dolls of the 80s type of fad.

Funny about the Owala free sip. I got one from Marshalls a longgg time ago for $10 in white. I do use it all the time and it's just OK. They don't make that color anymore. Is it worth the $30 it is now? No.

I was watching a video of these mugs online and how they came to be so popular. It was a bunch of influencer moms who teamed up with the co to get them out there. If you look closely, they're actually the shape of the their khaki thermoses upside down.

What is the deal with this cups?
Why are people going crazy over them?

You are seven months late to the trend. It’s a fad. You can get them at Dick’s.

My teen prefers the Yeti

One elementary school banned them because they were falling on the floor. The commuter mug style is big and unwieldy and the straw drags on the floor with each knock-down. They have to carry them outside to recess and try to stand them upright in the dirt and hope that they don’t topple over into the mud. They do not fit into the netting on the side of the book bags.

Personally I would just buy this for my teen. Oh well.
