Yes. And he has repaid all back taxes.

So what's the problem?

I have no idea.

The crime was tax evasion. People are prosecuted for it all the time. Has nothing to do with the fact that you paid it back after you got caught. Same thing with the theft.

Weiss pretends to crack down on Hunter while continuing to run interference for Joe Biden and the Biden crime family operation.

You people are so ridiculous. There is zero chance that anyone not named Hunter Biden gets criminally charged for these things— he is being charged because he is the president’s son — and yet you think it’s all somehow a coverup for bigger crimes.

It’s the QAnon approach to government.

He didn't just NOT pay his taxes. He committed tax fraud, claiming deductions that weren't allowed and not reporting income.
He will not get near the sentence any other regular "joe" would get, given the same crimes. Because he is the president's son.
He is not a victim here. He is very much a tax cheat. And, should be prosecuted.

Regular Joe's don't get charged with things like this. They aren't even investigated.

Not true. I watched it happen to an in-law, regular Joe Schmoe. And it was a lot less money.

Where are the FARA charges? The income pretty much all came from his activities representing foreign countries.

Hunter should be prosecuted.

Exactly. Why does he get a pass from being scrutinized? Let the courts decide.

Everyone should pay their taxes. Did their parents get hassled over their kid's tax issues?

Agree that dad should be left out of it … unless he pulled strings to shelter his son. In that case, dad stepped into this mess himself. I suspect it was more likely Joe’s handlers who got him involved in Hunter’s mess.

He’s been buying drugs and living the high life otherwise while evading taxes.

He’s illegally obtained guns.

Those things are a big who cares to you?

We should only care about or prosecute tax evaders or people who break our gun laws if they are running for president?

If one of Trump’s kids were in this situation, you would not care?

Do you remember Slurry McSlurryson Jr slurring his words and fighting the cocaine? Trump’s kids were in this situation. The difference is that the GOP likes a political witch hunt and the Democrats don’t use the judiciary to attack their enemies.

Meanwhile the three Trump kids probably helped plan the GOP’s coup on 1/6 and probably should be indicted.

Take them to court too. It shouldn’t matter who your dad is or what party you support.

I have no idea.

The economy is doing really, really well, the GOP is led and populated by traitors and criminals, and women and the men who actually love them are fired up to vote blue. The GOP is in its death throes. They’re lashing out.

Do you speak to “regular” people outside of “rarefied circles”?I do. It’s ugly out there.

He also lived a few years in the twilight of drug addiction but recovered. He paid off his taxes more than two years ago. I'm curious whether other people are aggressively prosecuted after they pay the IRS back. It will discourage future tax scofflaws from paying back money if they face 17 years anyway.

The Saudis called, they want their 2 million back, Jared.

That's B, BILLION. Two Billion, Jared. What did Jared have to do to earn it?

I guess you agree that the DOJ is not being weaponized by the Biden admin then.

This does prove that there is a complete disconnect between the President and DOJ.

And then what? This is the craziest stuff I've ever heard.

Why?

Why can’t Hunter Biden pay his own taxes, as Americans are legally required to do?

I think HB is being singled out in what you would call a "witch hunt" because he is related to Joe Biden.

I am more concerned about crimes committed by people while they were in office, and who took an oath to defend and uphold our Constitution. I am also concerned about the people who work in government, who may or may not be related to the POTUS, who did things I find highly questionable during their tenure.

Hunter is a non issue in my opinion. I don't care about him one way or the other. But you holding him up as some kind of a "gotcha" is strange. What is your point, how is it "political" that some guy - arguably a real low-life, sure - who is not potus is getting his life torn apart publicly?

So HB gets to ride on Air Force One and stay at the WH with his parents- but isn’t a “political person?”

Are you saying all presidential relatives who hang out with their presidential family are political people who need watching and investigating? OK.

No- they need to pay their taxes and not illegally buy guns. Also if a politician votes for laws to put Americans in jail for possession of crack rock, as Biden did specifically, and his son records himself smoking crack multiple times, why should he be exempt from the laws his father helped pass?

Do you understand that someone smoking a substance in a video is not evidence of drug use? Don't try to play lawyer.

He did not represent foreign countries.

The Democratic party is strong except for some college students who were never going to vote for Biden anyway. Trump is under 90+ indictments. The GOP are busy jailing women for miscarriages and screaming about pronouns. In other words, the GOP is a joke, Democratic party is doing well and rightwing folks are mad that their king has no clothes.

So the economy is strong, other than the whole people being able to afford things angle?

You all can't afford things because you are over leveraged with consumer debt. I'm doing fine. Stop buying AR-15s on credit.

His dad literally oversees the prosecuting attorney and hasn't intervened.

I’m fine with Hunter being prosecuted. Now let’s dissect the Trump kids business and tax activities and let’s stop whining about all the DJT prosecutions….
