This thread is about the lodged criminal charges, including a felony charge, against Hunter Biden. Those screeching their “whataboutisms” by raising the FORMER president really should start their own thread, or just GTFO. |
The economy is doing really, really well, the GOP is led and populated by traitors and criminals, and women and the men who actually love them are fired up to vote blue. The GOP is in its death throes. They’re lashing out. |
I think we should just LOCK HIM UP without bothering with legal procedures. Maybe someone should campaign on doing that.

Oh this will really do some damage to Hunter's presidency. Oh...wait. |
This whole episode is curious. Hunter was ready to enter into a plea agreement over a gun registration charge and tax charge, all in return for probation but also immunity from all other charges, including these current tax charges, oddly contained in a diversion agreement to which the judge was not a party. The judge asked a few tough questions and the DOJ could not publicly admit to such a broad grant of immunity, even though that was the deal they cut in the diversion agreement. The deal fell apart. Hunter's counsel still can argue in defense of the current charges that the prior deal should be honored. Not so sure that defense will stick but it makes sense to raise it. So why is the DOJ waking up now with 9 serious tax charges? What changed? Yes there was the appointment of independent counsel but he is not independent as defined by the relevant statute, and anyway, the DOJ could have brought these current tax charges long ago. Is there a need to bring charges now so there is a ramp for President Biden to pardon his son? If so, what does that portend for a Biden second term?. This is why it is relevant to the Presidency. |
Hunter is facing up to 17 years in prison once he is convicted of the current charges. |
I think some rich Democrat donor paid his back taxes. We should all be so lucky. |
Ya'll must not know anyone with IRS and tax issues. My father in law owed $20,000 in back taxes to the IRS. My father in law, like the Bidens, was a Delaware resident.
My father in law was hounded, literally hounded by the IRS. The $20,000 quickly grew to $200,000 in interest and penalties due to the IRS. No way does the IRS let the statue of limitations run out for a blue collar guy. Ultimately my father in law died an early death. I think the IRS stress killed him. |
That was then. |
The whole thing is a freak show, brought to you by a party that has absolutely no interest in actual governance and whose leader incited a mob to attack the US Capitol . Strange times... |
The whole case seems to be a simple misunderstanding, involving only $872,172 and how it was spent.
That amount was used to pay escorts, membership in an adult sex-club, “exotic” dancers, and strip clubs. These were legitimately office expenses. They were not personal expenses benefiting Hunter in any way. |
The real issue is that Biden has been a good President. The economy is strong (while I admit wages haven't always kept up with prices but a lot of that is price gouging.) The Democratic party is strong except for some college students who were never going to vote for Biden anyway. Trump is under 90+ indictments. The GOP are busy jailing women for miscarriages and screaming about pronouns. In other words, the GOP is a joke, Democratic party is doing well and rightwing folks are mad that their king has no clothes. |
So the economy is strong, other than the whole people being able to afford things angle? |
Yes, you are mistaken. Happened to a relative of mine. Not uncommon. You violate the law by not filing, not paying, not paying on time etc… Repayment is a distinct issue. We don’t have debtors prisons. |
