He’s been buying drugs and living the high life otherwise while evading taxes.

He’s illegally obtained guns.

Those things are a big who cares to you?

We should only care about or prosecute tax evaders or people who break our gun laws if they are running for president?

If one of Trump’s kids were in this situation, you would not care?

The Saudis called, they want their 2 million back, Jared.

Is was $2 Billion, and Jared's fund management is probably 1.5-2%, or 30-40 Million a year. But we all know that he is one of the smartest investors around.

Do you remember Slurry McSlurryson Jr slurring his words and fighting the cocaine? Trump’s kids were in this situation. The difference is that the GOP likes a political witch hunt and the Democrats don’t use the judiciary to attack their enemies.

Meanwhile the three Trump kids probably helped plan the GOP’s coup on 1/6 and probably should be indicted.

Hunter should be prosecuted.

Everyone should pay their taxes. Did their parents get hassled over their kid's tax issues?

Agree that dad should be left out of it … unless he pulled strings to shelter his son. In that case, dad stepped into this mess himself. I suspect it was more likely Joe’s handlers who got him involved in Hunter’s mess.

His dad literally oversees the prosecuting attorney and hasn't intervened.

This is not correct. Weiss has been designated as a special counsel - odd because the statute requires a lawyer not connected to the Government - but nevertheless he is an independent counsel and Biden does not oversee him any longer. Joe's lever is to fire Merrick Garland and fill the position with an AG who will cancel the independent counsel appointment. That is completely politically not viable. One explanation is that the DOJ tax leader was opposed to bringing tax charges. A very political person. But with Weiss' appointment, that tax leader cannot prevent it now. A federal prosecutor (former SDNY) friend thinks Hunter is in real trouble, as in 4-5 years in prison if he goes to trial (this based on the guidelines) and perhaps 3 if he accepts a plea agreement. His father will pardon him, so I am not sure it matters, but it does call into question the need for Hunter to move the case along.

We all care. Now he does not have to testify in front of the congress next week. Smart move timing these indictments.

🙄 He oversees them, sure. Did he oversee Hunter’s ability to get the money to payoff debts?

I think this thread has proven that some of us don't.

+1 I don’t care about this case.

He did not represent foreign countries.

A foreign country does not have to be involved. Representing the following can trigger it:

“entities organized under the laws of a foreign country or having their principal place of business in a foreign
country”.

Yes. And he has repaid all back taxes.

So what's the problem?

I have no idea.

The economy is doing really, really well, the GOP is led and populated by traitors and criminals, and women and the men who actually love them are fired up to vote blue. The GOP is in its death throes. They’re lashing out.

Oh yes, the economy is doing really, really well.

"The Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act of 1993, ushered into law by then-Sen. Joe Biden, at the time chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, made Form 4473 a key part of background checks for gun purchases mandated by the law. Lying on the form is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison."

Go get him

Exactly. Why does he get a pass from being scrutinized? Let the courts decide.

Hunter already got a pass. They ran out the clock a year ago on the main charges. (of course that was by "accident", ahem). Everyone forgets that little fact.

Get your facts straight. I saw Biden mention it in a speech. You think he doesn’t know where his own son died? Who’s the idiot here?
