OP, take a look at etsy. I feel like they have pretty designs that you can personlize with words or symbols.

Reducing men to steak and a bj and women to flowers and jewelry are just really sexist traditions that I despise. Humans are not that simple minded. Personally I would be offended by a gift but I do get these sexist ideas do exist because there are some women who do care mostly about shiny and pretty things.

Maybe but in this case we are talking about people in a loving relationship.

Ignore that a$$hat.

If the gift is about the life-saving aspect, not him, then someday it will remind her of a heroic thing she once did, not the person she saved. We could all stand to remember our finest moments when things are rough.

I saved my elderly neighbors life. She baked me a pie in a super cute pie pan. She wrote a note for me to keep the pan.

He could not go wrong with any of these items.

Agree a piece of jewelry with a nice saying that is relevant to what happened and a sincere meaningful letter is a beautiful expression of gratitude. The ridiculous comments about an engagement ring are so silly. Some have too much time on their hands!

So sweet! Does he bake, OP?

You could probably find off the shelf items symbolizing

--life, like the tree of life, circle of life; or

-- Heroism, like superhero shields, circles like the Olympic or Merlin circles, lifeguard stuff - or just search hero necklace on Etsy; or

--gratitude, apparently there is a modern universal symbol for gratitude composed of multiple ancient symbols (https://gratitudegifted.com/blogs/gratitudereads/official-symbol-of-gratitude#:~:text=The%20universal%20gratitude%20symbol%20has,a%20significance%20in%20Hawaiian%20cultures.)

If it fits her personality and taste, I like the Tiffany suggestions - classic, has the “wow” blue box moment, etc.

The nice thing about the jewelry is that it can be kept forever. When she is 80, she can remember it.

I like the idea of getting a life preserver necklace. But keep in mind that is the logo for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. I'm not sure how many people know that.

I like this Idea and i think most people won’t get that connection. I didn’t know.
