Splitting hairs a bit but at the moment there is some truth to it.

VDA, Union, NVA could each play each other 2-3 times and get 2-3 different results.

You can’t put a team that has never qualified for playoffs, let alone advanced to the round of 16 or won the mid-atlantic in the same sentence.

VDA is by far on top.

It looks like this year VDA has beaten Union 4-0 and 3-2.

NVA and VDA are about the same. NVA probably marginally better. Union not at that level.

About the same is probably right, NVA with the edge this year. But don’t know how long that will last. With BP coming in to VDA and likely bringing players and NS leaving NVA, it could shake it.

Preseason: NVA 1 - 1 VDA
ECNL: NVA 1 - 0 VDA
Bethesda: NVA 0 - 1 VDA
Jeff Cup : NVA 3 - 0 VDA

Union does seem to be trending better.

I agree with this point. The whole FVU thing might make it worse or better, who knows. But Union does push a style of soccer where the results don't immediately show, playing their style the final third takes a bit of time to figure out.

Agreed but this team 2009 team is still well behind VDA, and NVA. And if BL is coaching them next year, they always will be. Maybe they have a chance with NM, maybe not.

And hopefully JA stays far the h*ll away.

Signed VDA Fanboy

Hope you DD doesn’t lose her spot to incoming FCV players or the playups moving back on age.

VDA blows out Union 2-1 in the last game, VDA Fanboy proceeds to say "well behind".

Union 2009 just cannot be in the same conversation. That is all.

You should write their goal differential in those games, too.

VDA - dominating mid-Atlantic
NVA - only 1 tie and +5 goal differential
Union - 0-1-1 and -5 goal differential
Arlington - 0-2-1 and only 1 goal scored so far
Brave - 0-4 and -13 goal differential and zero goals scored

Your husband coach at a local HS? If not, you're the one with twins? It's got to be one of you that randomly tosses this crap out. Get a life, your other children must feel so much love.

You just quoted a 2 year old post.

VDA 2-4-1 playing against the best teams in the country in Florida and making Jefferson Cup final.

NVA 2-2-3 playing against the best teams in the country in Texas and playing Jefferson cup top group.

Union beat Maryland United and had to call Fairfax BRAVE to save their club.

All of the ecnl clubs play soccer with a mallet. Bully and cheat by physicality. It's not really soccer but go ahead and enjoy your self admiration. These girls get to college and don't know how to actually play. It's OK because they can just transfer teams like they transfered clubs to get ahead.

This probably comes across as harsh for most people but there are truths here. I will say that I don't agree that most colleges play a better style, those schools are rare. Best thing that will happen for soccer here will be just doing away with NCAA and collegiate play other than intramural.

Can someone elaborate on why there’s a gap between the level of teams in MA vs those teams in Texas and California? Style of play, coaching experience and quality or ?

Being a collegiate athlete was a truly special time in my life. Obviously you wouldn’t know but I hope your DD gets to experience it.

And there's nothing wrong with wanting to be one, intramural will still allow people that want degrees to be able to play college soccer. The money aspect will just be removed.
