| Virginia Union have been trending up! |
Eh, not really. Mid-table ECNL team. |
| VDA 2009 is the best in the DMV. |
Splitting hairs a bit but at the moment there is some truth to it. VDA, Union, NVA could each play each other 2-3 times and get 2-3 different results. |
You can’t put a team that has never qualified for playoffs, let alone advanced to the round of 16 or won the mid-atlantic in the same sentence. VDA is by far on top. |
It looks like this year VDA has beaten Union 4-0 and 3-2. |
Yeah, just don’t go to watch them play. There is a high chance you’ll catch a long ball off the side of the head if you are anywhere near the field. |
Works around here, but fails at the national level. And their parents are okay just watching them essentially bang their heads against the wall hoping it works. |
Different colleges recruit different styles of play. What works for one, doesn’t work for another. And if this style gets you out of your group on a national level, I’d say it works. And colleges will be interested. |
NVA and VDA are about the same. NVA probably marginally better. Union not at that level. |
Something worked considering VDA and Richmond had teams get out of the group at CL last year and nobody else from VA did? |
About the same is probably right, NVA with the edge this year. But don’t know how long that will last. With BP coming in to VDA and likely bringing players and NS leaving NVA, it could shake it. Preseason: NVA 1 - 1 VDA ECNL: NVA 1 - 0 VDA Bethesda: NVA 0 - 1 VDA Jeff Cup : NVA 3 - 0 VDA Union does seem to be trending better. |
Thats great! For now. What happens when or if the college game goes away? A LOT of college play is just flat out ugly. If collegiate soccer went away, do kids still do club and what does the next level look like I wonder. |
I agree with this point. The whole FVU thing might make it worse or better, who knows. But Union does push a style of soccer where the results don't immediately show, playing their style the final third takes a bit of time to figure out. |
Agreed but this team 2009 team is still well behind VDA, and NVA. And if BL is coaching them next year, they always will be. Maybe they have a chance with NM, maybe not. And hopefully JA stays far the h*ll away. |
