If you have a 5-7yo kid, what do you do about car seats/taxis when traveling?

One time we were in Barcelona and DD was 8 months old. Someone stole our diaper bag while we were out and then DD pooped all the way up her back, neck, into her hair. We had no diapers, clothes, wipes, money, nothing. Couldn't get public transportation without money. COuldn't fathom putting a sh-t covered baby into the stroller in the hot sun for an hour+ walk back to the airbnb. We ended up taking a cab and running in to get money to pay the driver when we got there. It was a 15 min ride, but I still feel incredibly guilty about it 10 years later!

The booster seat is worthless without the seatbelt. The seat belt is what saves a life not the booster seat.

You do realize that a booster seat is meant to be used with the seat belt. It brings the child up to the level where the seat belt is most effective.
