I am an AAC parent and he was on deck during practices on occasion. I have seen current board members (one woman in particular) that will be occasionally be on deck during practices. The Board is secretive. Sorry, it is true. One the website and at the parent meeting they welcome all to the Board meetings. But none of us have ever seen the email announcing the meetings and where they are located. Most organizations send out reminders, encourage members to show up, or at least have a zoom link to join. Practices are open to the public, so I don't think it can be stopped but as a parent, it makes me realize that a person like Mark Black was also moving through the locker rooms and/or paying "attention" to young kids.

It's nauseating. I googled him last night, do an image search and it's the first image. A government lawyer. A good friend knows him and considered him a friend but is now gutted at knowing this monster. Said he seemed like a totally normal dad, the kind of guy you'd let drive your kids in carpool or have a beer with or whatever.

I hope all his victims are getting help, as well as his own wife and kids whose lives have been destroyed.

Thank you for the information. You've confirmed my fear that this is the same person I was afraid it was. My children used to spend time at their house for play dates when they were younger, and the therapist for one of them has asked multiple times if there was any history if abuse considering the mental health struggles they've had, so this really concerns me.

What a shame. My heart is broken for his wife and children. They are such nice people.

You cannot possibly know this. It can take years for someone to reckon with childhood sexual abuse and eventually tell someone.

Interesting, at AAC he was always trying to chat incessantly with people on deck, parents/kids etc.- overly friendly in an off putting way, not picking up social cues. Reminds me of predators trying to befriend the parent to get to the kid.

I will say that he never looked like this at the pool, but this is him.

+1 it has to be the same guy but the one we interacted with at sports had longer hair. Not as buttoned up looking.

I don't know where he did in this particular case. I guess we will find out at trial. But most predators will befriend parents and kids and work them that way or prey upon kids via vidoegames and online. Parents give kids phones in 5th grade and it makes for easy victims.

Or it’s his own kids, who we know, too, making them doubly victimized. It’s horrifying for everyone involved. It’s just unfathomably horrifying.
