AAC President in the SAFESPORT Database

I do not believe for a second that AAC - or someone affiliated with it- didn’t know what was going on

The sad fact is that most people reported to SafeSport have engaged in abusive behavior many times before and it finally catches up to them

We are a family very tapped into AAC and had NO idea about this. I do not think the board or coaches had any idea.

And do you still not know what is going on? The lack of transparency is concerning

They should know now. He is still a part of the Club even though not the President anymore. And if families were so tight and connected how do they not know now what is going on?

Maybe they do know, and know there is no present danger so they are respecting the family’s privacy?

Again, if SafeSport suspended him, it’s serious. The team and anyone trying out should know how it was dealt with

It’s starting to seem like someone is trying to cover up whatever happened. If it wasn’t a big deal and there is no danger then just disclose what it was. This is beyond troubling.

Also this is the code that he apparently violated. This is serious stuff:

It has been all strange. I find it shocking that no one knows what the violation might be, but it had to be something serious given the punishment and the code.

So he was trying to sleep with a swimmer? Did he do something sexual and inappropriate in the locker room?

Even worse this is a county run program with county funding and use of county facilities. Come on Arlington, you can do better.

There are employees on deck who have been investigated by law enforcement for child molestation and are not listed in SafeSport or sanctioned. There are also innocent coaches who have been falsely accused and fired by their organization for being accused. It's not a perfect process and it never will be. Where there are kids, there will always be predators. Educate your children and make sure that they know to tell you, the parent, if they are victimized or even if they see something that makes them uncomfortable. We as a culture need to learn how to identify child sexual abuse, what it is, what it is not, and how to respond within our institutions.

AAC has had predators on deck last year and they could do nothing about it because the pool is public and open to the county. The coaches warned all the parents and watched the guy like a hawk.

I do hope at some point information comes out on what happened. There were some shake ups in the Club with the best swimmers jumping to other Clubs.

This sounds weirdly like you’re defending him and making it the victim’s fault

The club has no information on why this person was suspended. He is no longer on the board and hasn't been for at least four years. Whatever he did, it doesn't seem to be anything to do with AAC

What predators? Members of the public who were swimming laps at Long Bridge?
