On the sports forum they talk about Safesport being a joke and not even bothering unless very egregious.
I keep hoping that some information will come to light. |
Yes - my teenage son was in one of the groups where this individual would lurk in the hot tub and watch the boys. In the beginning he would also comment to the boys on what he thought they could do to improve their strokes. At one point the coaches put the girls in the far lane so that the boys weren’t swimming right next to him. The coaches would have the boys leave a different way to avoid coming into contact with him. The kids and coaches were definitely fully aware that this creep was watching them. I assumed they couldn’t do anything more because the guy hadn’t done anything wrong technically. He thankfully hasn’t been back this season or at least not during their practice. |
I’m the previous poster above - sorry - I tried to copy the question about the individual lurking in Long Bridge last year - that isn’t in response to the Safe Sport violation. |

Yes, there was a predator on deck all last year. He would engage the boys and teens on deck, and follow them into the locker rooms. It was an issue. But he never crossed "that line" and you cannot ask a member of the public from leaving when he was just making comments and being creepy. |
So you’re saying that last year, at Long Bridge, there was some guy in the competitive lane pool, or ON THE POOL DECK, during a closed practice session, watching/leering at/communicating with the swimmers, and then would follow them into the locker rooms, and AAC and pool staff just shrugged their shoulders and said, “well, it’s a public space!”? Either that is total BS or you are utterly and totally complicit in it. |
AAC does not have closed practices. It is a County pool that has lanes open to the public and they (the public) have a right to be there. I think that AAC could have had closed practices at Long Bridge if they have discontinued using the High School pools in the neighborhood like they were supposed to do. But a small minority of Arlington parents raised hell about their kids being able to walk to practice and Long Bridge was too far. http://m.arlingtonconnection.com/news/2021/aug/08/arlington-swimmers-want-pool-agreement-upheld/ |

So Black’s trial for creating child pornography is in a few weeks. Has AAC answered whether this man was on deck or chaperoning trips with kids? The fact the club is acting like they know nothing is scary. |
What!? Where did you see this? |
There was a status hearing a few weeks back in eastern District federal court.
The trial starts in December. |

The lack of information and reporting on this is crazy. I saw a picture of him online and he looks familiar - does anyone know what summer pool his family goes to? |
Family is Arlington Kiwanis - The Holy Mackerals. The trial date has been pushed to February. |
