Arlington County Board upcoming elections

With all due respect, Coffey is renting in Clarendon - not the same as 3-4 post college adults sharing a group house in Ballston or an immigrant family of 5+ sharing a small garden apartment off FMR. The issues in Clarendon are typically with rent increases not things like rodent infestations that have families sleeping in one room so the parents can keep the mice off their sleeping kids. But sure, keep trying to sell that I'm "just like you" narrative.

Again, if you live in Clarendon (the most expensive neighborhood) and complain about rent increases, you don't have much to complain about. There are SO many more pressing issues in Arlington County right now that need to be addressed like increasing crime rates which are truly concerning.

Read the Arlington County Police crime report. Crimes that are generally property related are reported on line with no police follow up. The kids who have been shoplifting in Westover were given a wink and a nod until they stole eggs from Walgreens and egged the Italian Store that is owned by the powerful Tramonte family. Now vandalism and shoplifting is noticed.

As of today, ACDHS counts 183 homeless people in Arlington. They have over 214 shelter beds and half are not filled because homeless will not comply with rules to use them. You can provide every service but people don't have to use them. You can't coerce compiance.

Yes, and it's not just this. Mental health for everyone. We cannot fix any problems unless mental health gets more than just lip service, everyone agrees that it is so important, but we are still just as bad as 20 years ago - no inpatient beds, no outpatient access, no resources, year-long waiting lists, unaffordable, or scattered/inconsistent.

In Coffey's case, it means that she continued with her life long privilege of having things handed to her that she did not earn. The Arlington Democrats used Rank Choice Voting only to ensure that she would be on the ticket for November.

We reported a minor vandalism incident online recently and were shocked at how much follow up there was. We were filing a report just in case we wanted to submit to insurance and we weren't expecting a call at all. It was handled extremely well and the detective gave us options for how much we wanted to go after the guy.

I have seen him out around the county campaigning and certainly wants it for the right reasons it seems. I would vote for him over Coffey.
