Let me guess you think "lockdowns" have zero basis in actual science.

Lockdowns were a political decision. Reflexively invoking "the science" to justify such a decision is also...political.

^^^^^ Exhibit A why conservatives aren't respected by scientists. Literally, a perfect example.

You want to make an actual point instead of foaming at the mouth?

Eh.....engineers tend to be more conservative. Engineers are a lot more practical than academic scientists stuck in their ivory towers. A large portion of engineers are either registered Republicans or are independent.

Surgeons are also well known to be a looooooot more conservative than primary care physicians. There's a very high probability that any time you're going in for a major surgery it is being done by a Republican.

So… fluff and slogans like:

“Defund the Police”
“Build Back Better”
“Black Lives Matter”
“Intersectionality”
“Lived truth”
“No Human is Illegal”
“Check Your Privilege”
“ACAB”
“Smash the Patriarchy”
… and so many more? Like those?

I don't think a majority of scientists embrace all those slogans.

How about "Transwomen are women"? Is that fluffy enough for you?

Conservatism is based on unquestioning belief in self-serving myths and stereotypes. It doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.

Liberal views on mathematics education don't stand up to scrutiny. Any scientist or engineer worth their lick of salt and who isn't a brainwashed zombie is absolutely alarmed at the progressive initiatives destroying basic science educational standards in the name of 'equality'. Progressives are making kids dumber.

You don't have to look further than Montgomery County, for example. Kids can get a 50% just for showing up to class only 4 times a semester and handing in no work. It's insane how badly progressives are destroying STEM education.

Thank you for proving my point by expressing your conservatism by citing myths and stereotypes.

Conservatism is ultimately simplistic slogans that aren't borne out by real world research (i.e. climate change is not human-caused, gun control doesn't work because only criminals will have guns etc.) There's no need for science to give "equal time" to such nonsense or to have affirmative action for conservatives.

Take Fauci for example. He's actually on the more conservative side when it comes to Covid, but conservatives insist he's a Covid-zero fanatic or implementing a "far-left" agenda.

Do you have a citation for your claims or did you just dream them up?

DP, but look at the voting patterns of people with college degrees over time - educated people are increasingly voting for Democrats, while Republicans are increasingly the party of the uneducated. It doesn't take a brain genius to connect the dots to the parties' respective policy positions.

Let's be accurate here.
College educated people are voting more for Democrats.
Non-college educated are more for Republicans.

These people are NOT uneducated. In fact, I would say that many of them are more educated than the typical college graduate. They just don't have degrees. A college degree does not automatically bestow "education." I have met many people with doctoral degrees that are dumber than a box of rocks.

As to why this is the case...... I would venture to say that the majority of college professors are liberal (a fact). When kids go through 12 years of K-12 schooling (and teachers are predominantly Democrats) and another 4+ years of college, it is unsurprising that they take on the views of those who teach them which are predominantly liberal.

Then, there are exceptions like me and my family. All college educated. All conservative.

I'm in a job where I am surrounded by a bunch of PhDs and I've never met one who was as dumb as a box of rocks.

I grew up in a small town with many lesser educated people, and there were a fair share of box of rock people there.

The right-wing is empirically wrong on just about everything, so why should scientists and academics respect them?
