A lot of girls are using cash apps for selling pics and videos. Sketchy but scroll through tik tok feeds and you'll see it. |
She worked at a take-out counter at a restaurant. Made $13/hour plus tips which made her hourly rate $15-20. She worked 30 hour weeks x 8 weeks. Took home right around $3500. |
Impressive |
| OP asked what MS girls wear and we told her. They’re definitely wearing/or wanting to wear Lululemon shorts. Crocs. |
They absolutely are, middle school girls have been awful |

Depends on your middle school demographic. White UMC, lots of lululemon.
Diverse in both color and socioeconomics, anything goes, quite literally. At my DD’s diverse public middle school I see everything from jeans, pajamas, leggings, sweats, athletic wear, cosplay bizarre stuff, all black, fuzzy slippers, Nike shoes, tall combat boots..really I don’t think you could stand out if you tried. Everyone wears whatever and anything. |
I agree with this. If girls stay away from the mean cliques (most of whom dress exactly alike, lots of lululemon yes), they should be fine wearing whatever they like. |
This is what we've seen. When someone makes fun of my dd's outfit she gets a pretty clear signal that it's not someone she'll want to be close to, at least not right now. There was a pretty clear dividing line among the friends from elementary school, those who cared a ton what was cool and those who couldn't care less. It made for a tough sixth and half of seventh grade until the more accepting kids kind of found each other. They wear whatever. |
PS if your DD is asking for expensive name brands, you might want to ask her how her clique treats people who aren't wearing the "right" labels and styles. She might not listen right away but keep messaging that kind people don't exclude or put down others based on their outfits. |
| OP, my 13-year-old with ASD wears a lot of Lululemon and Athleta. She had lots of sensory issues so the clothes are comfortable. And she looks good. She goes to a mainstream school and has never been bullied. |
Good advice, thanks. |

We are middle class DC with a middle school girl at a public charter. The girls are overall very casual and comfy.
Mine wears yoga pants/leggings with the slightly flared leg, t-shirts with name of band she likes or cute pics, and oversized zip up hoodies. In 5th grade she did more cropped hoodies and in 6th she go into oversized. Lots of fitted t-shirts solid colors from H&M, American Eagle, etc. Some old navy. Athletic shorts, but cotton knit, not like running shorts nylon, not name brand. Crocs, Uggs (or look a likes), or sneakers. |
| My DD (rising 7th grader) must be behind. She wears platform high top converse. Lol. |
I see packs of them—boys and girls all walking home in PJ bottoms every day after school. |
The bolded is not true. There are many mean kids with mean parents out there eager to laugh at others for nonsense reasons. I’ve seen girls in tiny shorts and tops as if there were walking on a beach. |
