Washington Post All Met honors

I think those coaches are not necessarily from the area but a broader region, like a state. So they may not be familiar with certain players. And I believe it’s a smaller group of coaches.

It’s actually only the HS coaches in the chapter and only for players in the geographic area of the chapter. So those that would know them the best. It’s like 120 coaches that are eligible to vote. So it is the most democratic as you only get it by getting the most votes, so it’s not only a few coaches picking their favorites.

So if the Post is doing a good job with All Met, then all of the 1st team players should make the USAL All American list.🤔

120 coaches voting based on what? Watching them play? Please. Talk about politics.

Hopefully, All-Americans are also All-State, right? Cause that wouldn’t be a good look for All-American voting.

“More democratic?” I don’t understand. They each get one vote, yes? And if they are not from area and don’t know the NOMINATED players, what are they basing their votes on? Provided stats? From teams?

I don’t believe all of the classes have even posted their all-state teams? If all-american teams come out Mon/Tue this model doesn’t work.

I can tell you from experience that it doesn’t matter what honors coaches are voting for, it is so political and out of control. Coaches will 100% work it out where it’s “vote for my kid and I will vote for yours” ahead of time.
So the best players are not 100% getting the honors they deserve.
Even All America voting is corrupt. Again talking from experience, and if you disagree, your a rookie coach that doesn’t understand how it really works.

One last statement, there are plenty of honest coaches in the DC area, but then there are always coaches that are not. Not saying all coaches are dishonest, just stating the reality

I’ve seen some players post a few weeks ago they are all-Americans. Way before all-states were announced or even before playoffs we’re done.
