WOW just about every HS club in the DMV has at least one girl on that list except MCE and NL. How far MCE has fallen...

Lots of politics in these rankings and is not a reflection on MCE. SR junior MCE player going to Denver should have made honorable mention at a minimum, along with the SJC Jr/Yale commit. These two girls' performance on the field this season were stellar and everyone in the ISL and WCAC can recognize when they are not on the field. NL probably has never had a player in All-Met and EVERYONE knows their HS program to date is rec, why the co-owners daughter is on Cap.

What is interesting is that there are seven players on the full All-Met list that were on the Pride 2023 A team. KM & BS drove all but three of them away to other teams and the level of talent they had is evidence of how badly Pride botched their inaugural college recruiting class.

SJC Jr/Yale commit is from Capital not MCE and yes you know when she is not on the field and feel her everywhere when she is. The Denver commit is SR/MCE and a no kidding player. Shame on the voting.

I know that the writer for the Washington Post came to lots of games and chose girls not only because of stats/records, but their sportsmanship and leadership. Lots of strong talent but there's always people unhappy and overlooked

What about the boys All Met? Why aren’t people attacking the Post writer?

I don't think Pride's HS program will ever recover from the 23 debacle. The pattern seems to be the top 40-50% of the Red team goes to CLC and Pride then brings up some girls from White and girls from other programs to fill out the new HS Black team. The new Black team will be competitive but is now playing in tournament groups that are nowhere near the top like they were in MS. I don't see this pattern changing anytime soon and it seems that KM is more accepting of this reality versus when her 25 team left in mass.

While the club scene in Virginia leaves a lot to be desired, and clubs certainly impact recruiting, how good a high school player gets is much more about how much work they put in outside of club and high school practice. My daughter is a D1 signee that made 1st team All Met, and I see firsthand the relentless work ethic that got her there.

Some poor decision making took place by the 23s who thought they could be better off as a group instead of as individuals. That unfortunately had implications for many players and their future recruiting aspirations. Hard lesson was learned.

I disagree that they were better off as individuals. They were better off playing as a group but on a team who's director paid people a living wage and can keep a recruiting coordinator more than 1 year. Though to learn their job and develop the required relationships in a year.
