It is a hard job for the Post. One certain way to make the list more accurate and easier for the Post is to exclude the Howard County and Anne Arundel county schools as these girls are also eligible for the Baltimore Sun selections. Also, they could better take into account the strength of schedule when evaluating individual statistics.

While one might quibble with a pick or two, many are validated by the top D1 programs that recruited them: #1 Northwestern, #6 JMU, Maryland, UVA, and Michigan.

Agree, there are several girls from those areas on the All-Met list who were already recognized by the Baltimore Sun.

Maybe, but there is also a senior who was not able to get a D1 commitment, barely reached 100 goals in their whole high school career, didn’t make this or any of the lists last year, went to the school with a hissy fit, and now is on every list this year after a fine season, but hardly one that tops many others who are not on this list. When you have deserving players who are in the recruiting process still and deserve to be here, but school politics prevent that, there is a serious problem with the process.

It would be a very interesting science project to see where all of these players played travel in MS. With HS travel tryouts starting in a few weeks, this would be an interesting metric to see who is developing great travel players.

For the girls..... would say most underclassman, and probably most of the upper classman as well, on the list are from a Baltimore big 3 (M&D, Hero's, Sky Walkers) and Capital. I'm sure a few were/are Pride or another random couple of club programs.

Quite a few VA Metro players too, but I believe all of them were on the 2023 Black team. That team had something like 18 girls commit to D1 or D3 programs.
