If you could move anywhere in the US where would you live right now?

Ithaca, that's an interesting call. I love Ithaca and it's beautiful in the summers. But spending winter there is a hard pass for me. It looks like you appreciate wintery spots, though, so it might be right for you!

Moved to park city from Bethesda 3 years ago- we loved Bethesda, but love Park City, too- great move for us!

If I had to leave, I'd go to some rich suburb of NY.

We almost moved to the Lamorinda area for work during the pandemic, but decided against it because we didn’t want to move our kids. Still have regrets about not pulling the trigger when we had the opportunity.

It's Peaks.

Portland is all closed up and kinda depressing in the winter & spring though. What do you love about it then?

We plan to move to Fort Collins, CO the second the ink dries on our retirement paperwork.

I know the other poster didn’t like Portland but Portland in the summer is just so good! Day trips to the beach one day, Mt hood, weekend in bend and hood river … no where better

DP. Winters aren’t that bad. It’s not like Buffalo or even Syracuse. Too many MAGAs nearby now for me though.

Maine
Hawaii

Would also consider:
Vermont
Washington

Maine
Western Massachusetts
Orange County, NY
Traverse City, MI

Would have put North Carolina on here, but Republican nut jobs have taken over the legislature.

Yes!

I love that dcum has posters who would rather move north than the stereotypical “move south/move sunbelt”

Santa Fé is great but New Mexicans are — hmm, odd.

It’s a weird weird state

You need to educate yourself.

New Orleans- it has the most soul and identity out of any city in the US. I find areas of the French Quarter to be absolutely beautiful as well as the Garden District. It’s just a fantastic and fun city.
