If you could move anywhere in the US where would you live right now?

Portland is all closed up and kinda depressing in the winter & spring though. What do you love about it then?

Hmm not my experience at all. It’s become a “destination/lifestyle“ sort of place for people to move to so it’s full of people who moved here for a reason and are really pleased about it. Food and cultural events are pretty thriving year-round and of course winter time is beautiful and magical when it snows. Do March and April suck? Yes, they do. But a small price to pay for generally awesome quality of life year round.

It might be fun to travel around and stay in various places for a month or so, to find out what you like.

Which town on the coast? I’m reluctantly moving to Eugene (family circumstances) and one of the solaces is that we won’t be too far from the coast, relatively.

OP, what about Charlotte, NC or Santa Fe? Can you tell us more about your hobbies, type of weather you like, and so on?

If I had to leave, I'd go to some rich suburb of NY.

Lamorinda? Where is that?

We own an island home in the Puget Sound and routinely book guests for month-long stays who bounce around the country from one AirBNB to the next. Sounds lovely and a great way to try out a forever location.

I would live in Carribean Winters and either Hawaii or Seattle the other half.

Tiburon, CA--right on the water, close to the city, hiking, a hour from Napa, 4ish hours from Tahoe.

Actually, anywhere in Marin Country would work--also love Mill Valley, Kentfield/Greenbrae/Ross. Sausalito is a little too touristy, but it would do.

If money was no object, San Francisco first choice, then San Diego. Both of them are beautiful cities.

Would have put North Carolina on here, but Republican nut jobs have taken over the legislature.

Yes!

I love that dcum has posters who would rather move north than the stereotypical “move south/move sunbelt”

Except you think Republican Nutjobs aren’t in New England bc of Bernie??

You need to educate yourself.

The % of nut jobs goes down as you head north.

Santa Fé is great but New Mexicans are — hmm, odd.

It’s a weird weird state

Santa Fé, Taos, Abiquiú

New Mexican here. How are we odd? And how is our state weird?

And you can lose the accented e and u.

Denver's gone wrong, just FYI. Maybe the new mayor can fix it but I doubt it.
