McLean HS 2023 Outcomes

What class rank?

I’m starting to think that it’s everywhere…the prestigious European int’l school my kids attended for three years had crap results for 2023 graduates. Zero Ivies, no Oxbridge. It was unreal.

Are you nuts? About 1/2 the kids report their destinations and it includes 14 kids to Ivies/MIT, @ 40 kids to UVA, and kids to a slew of great schools.

For a neighborhood school that isn't TJ, in an area that doesn't have the same number of legacies as other parts of the Mid-Atlantic and New England, the results were very strong.

Have to agree, for a class of 620, the list is not particularly impressive.

Of course, but OP should have known her post would bring out such types.

There's a student going to Richmond. It was posted on the Instagram page but perhaps not in the senior edition of the newspaper.

Richmond and W&L get relatively few from in state.

Very underwhelming that is supposed to be one of the top high schools in the country. Not 1 to UCLA or Berkeley or other top schools other than few Ivies (presumably legacies)?

Not one that is LISTED. I’m sure McLean has some going to Berkeley, UCLA, USC, etc. I know several Langley kids going to those, but they did not post it on Instagram or anywhere else.

Someone posted the Instagram page started by McLean seniors. It indicated there were kids heading to both UCLA and Berkeley.

+1

TJ love UVA, and the FCPS students that could not make it to TJ love it even more

It appears to be the source that FCPS has cited, so yes.

It was a source that FCPS cited at a time when it thought it was in its interests to do so. It doesn't mean FCPS or anyone else views it as definitive, as opposed to informative.
