Recent travel with elderly parents was HARD.

12:25 again. Fri Eve - Sun midday, maybe that's the length of any trip. So obviously you aren't going far away. AND 1/2 of that time spent independently. Let them: get up late, not eat spicy food, and go to bed early.

Yuck. Why did you think traveling was going to be fun with them in tow?

I'm taking notes and will be sure to make arrangements to shut you away in a windowless closet when you get old.

If the day wasn't going as planned, she would have a total attitude. Just sit and look on her phone and not really interacting with the kids. When I asked her what was bothering her, she blamed it on not wanting to get the kids in trouble....huh? It was exhausting. Like you said, I was just trying to enjoy the time with my kids and husband but had to spend unnecessary time/energy trying to navigate her emotions. We had planned a trip with them in a year to Hawaii. Def going to cancel that. It is sad, disappointing and exhausting all at the same time.

Why did you reactivate a thread over a year old? OP is long gone.
