Why are white people shorter in dc compared to other cities?

I disagree with your post. I'm from NY and find people referring to me as "short" here where I was considered average in NY. 5"3.5'

I live in Bethesda and surely do not see all these short people. In fact, the parents at Visitation or Gonzaga or Prep are over 6 feet tall and the women are pretty tall as well. Maybe it’s an Irish Catholic thing. The shorter people I have met are immigrants. Otherwise, compared to other states I have lived in, the white peoples are just as tall but not as fat.

What about the people who mow your lawn or clean your toilets?

Here you go. We have family in the south and people there are much taller, including the women. The umc are all blonde, thin, and 5'9.

I find the obsession with height fascinating. Like why do we care soooooooo much about height when it is a trait no one has control over. Yet compare it to obesity where we are told we need to be accepting of different body types and to have body positivity. Why does the same message change when we talk about height though? At least you can control your weight, unlike height.

The men are shorter. I don’t think the women are shorter. In fact, I think the women may skew taller.

Five ten is tall in DC.

The men are taller in Charlotte, Atlanta, Minneapolis etc. More WASPs and more German and Scandinavian stock. Also agree male nerds are often shorter and there are a lot of nerds in DC.
