So how did the meeting go? Did you plan the revolution?

Hasn’t happened yet. Learn to read a calendar. The 26th is tomorrow.

The meeting is over. Can we get an update?

Also can we get an action plan for what we can do? I'm not so available to come to meetings but I'll sign a petition, if that's part of the process?

I will sign a petition or write a check. We need to get rid of these maniacs.

Do you really believe this? It is extraordinarily difficult to recall a Councilmember. The effort to recall Jack Evans failed in 2019 for lack of signatures. Whatever Nadeau's shortcomings might be, they Evans was exponentially more deserving of recall. The threshold is even higher now that the number of registered voters has increased.

I would sign the petition, but I don't have any confidence that a different W1 CM would change much, or anything. Can someone explain exactly what policies they want Nadeau to endorse or abandon? All that I've heard is that she's tough on crime and doesn't do constituent services well. What are the crime policies that should change? She doesn't support vice squads. That's reasonable.

After the meeting during which there were at least 3 attempts to disrupt, including by doodling on the speaker’s slides and screaming, I’m in. I will collect the signature for as many days as needed.

The point that we need the alternative doesn’t stand. There would be at least 4-6 months from recall count to any by election. And a replacement might emerge through these efforts.

The stories people told about Brainne were heartbreaking. Ignored, laughed at, eye rolled at repeatedly etc. The meeting was very technical and respectful and is just the beginning.

I do. Even if I didn’t, mounting an effective effort, whatever the result, will raise awareness, increase scrutiny and help us keep them accountable

I'd like to hear the name of a viable, moderate alternative candidate, but I do agree that Nadeau is unaware that she's supposed to be accountable to her constituents. And not just the ones who help her brag about what a progressive saint she is, either! This is a good point.

You don’t need the name. That’s a Nadeau false argument. Plenty of time to find one, recall first

You all are under the impression that progressivism is not the base of the Democrat party. In DC it is so you all have zero chance of a successful recall and will instead be branded racists and end up out of business.

One can only hope!

No chance. You may not like Charles Allen's politics, but he is EXCELLENT at retail politics. He responds immediately to emails and often follows up unprompted if there's a development/to see if your issue got sorted. He would have responded to Aurora Market immediately and then held his next office hours there during off-hours to gin up business for them. He has a fabulous track record, in particular, of actually getting DCPS/DGS/DPR to fix problems when it comes to Ward 6 schools who reach out to him. Other than being too soft on crime for my liking, he has basically nothing in common with Nadeau.
