Opening your front door

Neither my dh or I open the door, unless the person knocking is a neighbor. If a kid showed up in their scout uniform, sure.
We do try to get to know who our neighbors are.

Unfortunately, we have lots of door to door salespeople (why is that in this area?) and they tend to be aggressive. It's best just to not answer.

In the year 2023 nobody you know will just drop by. It’s not a thing. Even if you’re expecting someone to be coming over most people send a text that they’re outside your house before even touching the door or at least let you know they’re on their way. It’s not the 1950s anymore.
